Exceptionally nice older hotel.

Posted May 29, 2015
Pros: Quaint with well done and stylish upgrades.
Cons: Good as is.
Location: Staff recommended excellent restaurants. Must see is the Taos Pueblo.
Exceptionally nice older hotel. The property has been upgraded exceptionally well. This hotel is very close to town. Very friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast buffet. Between the wonderful hotel and seeing a bit of Taos we extended our stay for another day.

Trepidation climbing the stairs to our room

Posted May 26, 2015
Pros: Clean and large room
Cons: Spruce up the stairs, clean and repair it including the passage way. Cleaning the back balconies will be helpful too
Location: Near restaurants and shops
Quite apprehensive, didn't know what to expect with the room because the stairways were in really bad condition. Same goes with the lock, very loose, looks unsafe. Anyhow the room is a revelation; large, clean and seems comfortable. Cannot rate the breakfast since I'd chosen cold eggs and coffee only.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay at El Pueblo Lodge ! I am happy to hear that you found your room to be clean and comfortable ! I do apologize however for the trepidation you felt going upstairs. We have addressed that issue and the stairs were repaired. I hope you will come back and visit us again if your travels include Taos !

Convenient, friendly & helpful staff, good brkfst

Stairs & upper walkways need repair. Beds just ok. Decor a bit dated. Otherwise comfortable and clean. Delightful staff. Probably a bit overpriced but that could reflect the area's economy.

Best in Taos

Posted May 16, 2015
Location: Within walking distance of the Plaza and Kit Carson Park. You can park your car and forget about searching for parking places.
Although I've stayed other places in Taos, this was my first stay at El Pueblo Lodge. It was far superior, Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the beds super comfortable. Would love to have taken mine home with me. And the extensive freshly made complimentary breakfast buffet was out of this world. Lupita who prepares the buffet and goes by "Loopy" kept our coffee cups filed and everyone smiling. This is an older adobe facility that really captures the ambiance of northern New Mexico. It has been well kept up and is quite pleasant. Those looking for slick chrome and glass or a duplicate of every other chain facility in every other city, you may want to look elsewhere and leave El Pueblo Lodge for those of us who appreciate authenticity. No problems using the WiFi in my room. El Pueblo Lodge will be my go-to home away from home in Taos.

Pros: Location. Size of Room. Fireplace. good breakfast with lots of choices.
Cons: room was a little dark but not really bad. could use a brighter look.
Location: Very close to downtown Taos. Lots of shops, food and beer nearby.
Good place to stay. Walking distance to the Taos Plaza. Shops along the route and a Post office right next door. Room was very large. King bed, three person couch, small balcony with two chairs and a working fireplace. Wood to start and continue a decent fire.

Pros: Location. Spacious rooms were a nice change.
Location: Lambert's is walking distance for dinner and nice. Try Orlando's for local fare. Visit the pueblo - we enjoyed talking to the shopkeepers.
