Staff is very helpful, the room was clean small, comfortable and quite. Great location and you feel part of history, this was our second time there and we really loved our first room. This room was okay, we would definitely use them again.

Right on the plaza- walking distance to allPosted May 12, 2015
I had a wonderfully relaxing stay at the hotel. I loved the location & being within walking distance to the shops, galleries & restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

Not as advertised.Posted Apr 19, 2015
Pros: The location was great.
Cons: Remove the large piece of furniture holding the tv and replace with a low, flat dresser. There is no dresser in the room.
Location: Right on the square and walking distance from restaurants and shops.
Hotel was listed as having a restaurant. The restaurant closed in October. Room was clean but very small. Guy running a leaf blower at 5:30 am in the square. Very loud.

Very nice hotel w/ excellent location on plaza.Posted Mar 14, 2015
Pros: Location to everything we wanted to see and do.
Cons: A small frig in the room would be nice. Pretty good ice machine, just bring a cooler if you can
Location: Excellent location!!!! A few really nice shops. Bearclaw for breakfast, amazing!
We arrived a little early but, not a problem. Frank was friendly and amazingly helpful with whatever we asked. The room was very adequate for the little time we spent there, beautiful view of plaza. Recommend corner room, overlooking plaza. Stay close to plaza, a little sketchy and not as nice the further away you get!! Only had a few days the two of us could get away together, so lots of down time and not to much wandering. Go see Brenda at the sunglass shop on the plaza if you need new shades, very knowledgeable and friendly. Gorge bridge is definitely worth a stop and Ojo Caliente is close, although don't stay in the old hotel(other accommodations available) . Very thin walls, doors that barely lock, smells a little funky and only 1/2 baths. If you're into micro-brews, OH-LAWD!!!!, GO TO MESA BREWING!!!! Excellent beers and one of the coolest beer houses we have been to. Stay a while and watch good live music and take in the patio and views. Eskes brewing closer to town also has a few good brews and friendly service. Will definitely return.

really nice, but...Posted Jan 21, 2015 on Hotels.com
Three nights in king size, room was in front of the hotel on the plaza (nice). Seemed like a slow time, don't know why they placed other parties directly next to us when the sound seems to pads through the walls so easily. Clean room, a little small but goes with the historic building and ambience, just wish it had better insulated walls.

Snowboarding weekendPosted Dec 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
Weekend getaway for snowboarding. I arrived at around 6:30 pm and the night staff were very friendly and helpful. They made some good dinner suggestions. They also offered me a cup of coffee and a pastry, I declined as I was heading out for dinner. Next morning the lady working the front desk was not quite as friendly or helpful, but not rude. I asked for a coffee and a pastry and the lady said only the coffee was included. I asked for a bottle of water and she said no only the water bottles in the room were included. The hotel is located in the little plaza and walking distance from little shops and restaurants. It is a good 45 mins from the ski area. Overall hotel is clean, bending is comfortable and quiet.

Great place to stay in TaosPosted Nov 26, 2014
Rooms very clean and all amenities fine with an excellent location on the Taos main square. My only criticism is the room was a little small and their restaurant didn't open till 11am. Other than those minor issues, I'd certainly stay there again. The nearby Bent St Cafe and the Taos Inn both served as great food alternatives and the Moby Dickens bookstore is a treasure.
