nothing fancyPosted Aug 2, 2015
If you are looking for a place to sleep and take a shower, this is a good place to do it. I felt disappointed when I arrived because I thought that the hotel architecture was more Taos style, but instead, I found a modern facilities not very well conserved behind a very nice façade. Location is good.

An OK place for budget travelers, but ...Posted Jul 31, 2015
Pros: We liked the ambiance and architectural features of the buildings. The free breakfast, free Wi-Fi and free parking were nice features.
Cons: Maintenance could use some improvement. My wife had to borrow a broom to clean up the 2nd floor balcony which looked out to the parking lot
Location: A bit far to walk from downtown but only a short drive by car. Nearby is a good Mexican take-out restaurant, Guadalajara Grill
We enjoyed the live music in the lounge during our week-end stay. There was a group of performers singing Western-style songs on the stage and patrons danced to the music, suitable for fans of Western American culture. Our room had 2 queen-size beds and a table/desk with two chairs, but there's not much space left. The bed near the window was too close to the A/C and made sleeping with the noisy A/C unit on difficult, if not impossible. The wait to check in or to get answers to questions in person was too long. They could use more people to assist guests.

Pleasant older hotelPosted Jul 30, 2015
Pros: The breakfast and the charm of the old building.
Sagebrush Inn is a perfect example of "Old Taos". It is a charming property that has been well maintained and that has pleasant ambience and services. The breakfast included with the room rate is excellent.

Cons: It could stand some updating.
It was nota new hotel, but was very comfortable. I didn't feel like we were in a motel but Ina place of old Taos. The room was spacious and very comfortable.

Good for repeat staysPosted Jul 26, 2015
Pros: Very friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast. Quiet garden landscaping. Huge well furnished room.
Cons: Water pressure was a little low, but they are working on it for those few rooms experiencing this issue.
Location: If you have a good map you can access all the fun places and avoid the Plaza traffic jams when you stay at this Hotel.
We usually stay at another hotel in Taos NM but because of a last minute trip on Fiesta weekend we ended up at the Sagebrush. It was fantastic. Beautiful quiet off the highway courtyard gardens were much appreciated even on our short visit. Room was huge and very comfortable. We had no problems but I witnessed the front desk staff go beyond the rules to make a lady happy when she had some noise issues. And the BEST part of our stay was the free Breakfast served in the same historic dining room we remembered from a dinner visit to the Sagebrush Restaurant many years ago. We plan to return.

Great old hotel, great atmosphere.Posted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: The atmosphere!
Cons: Not a whole lot.
Location: The Guadalajara Grill is a great place to eat!
Danced the night away with my honey to live music. The only drawback was staying to close to the pool, the kids were noisy too early in the morning but other than that it was the hotel was great and the staff was real nice.

Very spaciousPosted Jul 10, 2015
Larger space than expected, an older place. Very generous breakfast. We'd go back... For the area, a very reasonable price!!

Nice old hotel looks good from streetPosted Jul 8, 2015
Wooden deck in front of rooms looks old and rotten water doesn't drain from balcony balcony looks to be sagging I was afraid to go out on balcony had to buy flip flops to wear in shower it looked nasty in tub like something growing in there, had problems with spiders in room. Could be really nice here just needs a little care. The best thing at this hotel was the breakfast buffet very good food

OkPosted Jul 8, 2015
Pros: The look and staff were very polite.
Grounds and layout are very nice and historical. Rooms are small and have very low ceilings (historical). My room neighbor had a barking dog that carried on for 3-4 hrs, Called front desk and they were very polite but it didn't seem to take care of the problem. Breakfast atmosphere was great. Completely self serv food was average. I'm always a little bothered when there is a tip jar out but the process is 100% self serv and there is no customer client interaction. I like tipping for good service.
