Charming and romantic hotel right on Taos PlazaPosted Nov 28, 2013
Pros: Historic, charming, romantic
Cons: Even though, the music and the size of the room didn't bother us, it would bother some and needs to be disclosed at time of booking to avoid issues.
Location: Right on the Taos Plaza, good walking tours. Not a ton to do in Taos though, if not skiing.
Stayed in historic part of hotel above the open lobby area. Room was small, but very clean and comfortable. We stayed up to enjoy the band, but retired to our room after a few margaritas. Some would not like the face you could hear the band in the room, but it didn't bother us. Great hotel and location with nice staff. Recommend dining at Love Apple (cash only) on North side of town (get a reservation). Breakfast at Taos Diner, recommend the rellenos.

VERY ATMOSPHERIC BUT THE BEDS ARE HARDPosted Nov 17, 2013
We enjoyed staying here. The sloping floors are part of the delight and the bar and restaurant were excellent but the beds are old and hard.

Nice place to stay in Taos. Conveniently located.Posted Oct 19, 2013
Pros: I really the charm of the Historic Inn!
Cons: Perhaps the staff when showing you to your room can show you how to use the Kiva.
Location: Location is great and near everything you want to see and do in town.
The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Nightly entertainment in the lounge is great considering the town shuts down around 6PM.

In the Heart of TaosPosted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: The conviviality of the bar and restaurant. Also its proximity to shop[s and other attractions in the historic district.
Cons: The heating and a/c controls do not appear to be functional. Also, the loud entertainment. (see above)
Location: You can walk to museums and shops. During the summer months there is a charming farmer's market.
Great fun to be had in the "living room" of Taos. Charming heart of thehistoric site. One caveat that is not mentioned in their publicity: There is live music 7 nights per week, lasting until 10:00 pm. It can be VERY LOUD. If you do not think you would enjoy having your bed and walls vibrate, make sure you get a room that is not in the main building.

Hotel has some really BAD roomsPosted Sep 6, 2013
Pros: Restaurant was good
Cons: Fix the Fan, fix the phone, tell people that you get a room with entertainment outside the door nightly.
For th price we got thru Expedia, we got a room facing lobby. There was live Live music from 7 to 10 nightly in the lobby, and we could not relax. Room was hot. Fan was too noisy to turn on. Opened window, but street light was shining in our eyes as we tried to sleep. Last, the phone message light blinked the entire time we were there. Management could not correct this.

The Taos Inn is my favorite place to stay in Taos. I stay here 3-4 times a year. I like the nightly entertainment and the food is great!
