Montevideo, the national capital, is located about 90 miles (145 kilometers) to the southeast of Tarariras.
You don't have to limit yourself to the points of interest in Tarariras because the whole region is dotted with a wealth of interesting natural and man-made attractions. If you're looking for other places to check out, you'll find Nueva Helvecia, 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the west, and Conchillas 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the east.
Organise your transportation and head to Colonia del Sacramento, a retail and transport hub for the region, approximately 18 miles (29 kilometers) away from Tarariras. This bigger city offers a wide range of attractions, for example Theater Bastion del Carmen, Colonia del Sacramento Plaza Major and Portuguese Museum. Ensure you don't rush back to Tarariras until you've investigated Colonia del Sacramento's Convent of San Francisco and Calabres Beach.
