Basic Rooms in Old Town

Posted Dec 30, 2013
Simple accommodations next to cathedral and walking distance to ferry. The church bells rang every quarter hour and on the hour. Very hard to sleep through.

Close to everything

We stayed in a shared bath room, which we've never done before. The room was very clean and spacious. It had a king bed which we wanted to bring home, it was so comfortable. The bathroom was clean, and we never had to wait. The man in charge spoke excellent English. The pension was near everything we wanted, and was a short little walk to the port. We even had heating in the room (were there in December)! I recommend it!

Very convenient--walk to Tangier ferry.

Posted Oct 31, 2013
We really enjoyed this pension. Stayed in the double on the third floor with windows on both sides for cross-ventilation and a tiny rooftop patio all our own. We found the clock chimes mentioned in other reviews to be pleasant and relaxing. Didn't keep us awake at all. Location couldn't be better. On-street parking was easy enough--we parked about 200 meters away on a quiet dead end street. Staff helped to schlep the luggage up three floors. We're nearly 70 and didn't find the stairs to be any problem at all. We're not favorably impressed with Tangier, but now we've "got the T-shirt". Besides, we've now been as far south as one can go in Spain. Also, Gibralter is a few minutes drive and well worth a visit.

Central location, clean, friendly a little noisy

Posted Jun 18, 2012
Pros: clean, great welcome, friendly
Cons: noise
Location: central, quaint
Pension Correo was very clean and the manager was really friendly and helpful. The shared bathroom was immaculately clean and we noticed it was cleaned several times during the day. Our only recommnedation would be to take some ear plugs as the people (not traffic) noise from the street and chimes from the clock close by were exeptionally loud during the night, worse on a friday and sat but not too bad on sunday and monday for our stay. Great central location too. I would stay again, but I would bring my ear plugs.

Nice but loud!

Posted Sep 16, 2011
Nice and clean, fresh towels daily, no elevator, no air conditioning. We had room 8 at the top of the building- nice large room with it's own rooftop terrace. Beware The wind in Srptember HOWLS in this room! Also take note that the town's major church is right next door and the bell ringing continues 24 hours a day, and it is extremely loud!
