I thought that for a Quality Inn we would get a wheelchair accessible doorway to the bathroom, uncomfortable beds. and less than admirable amenities, but we were so wrong! The wheelchair accessible bathroom was huge! My friend, who is confined to a chair, had no trouble using it. The sink, the commode, the shower stall and fixtures were all made for her! By golly, the shower even featured a shower chair! The only problem with the shower was there was absolutely no hot water, and that made showering really unpleasant.
The beds were like nests and we wanted to take them home with us.
The overall condition of the room was perfect. We dropped onto our beds around 7 p.m. and didn't want to get up from them....ever!
There was also no noise coming in from the street or other boarders. The air conditioning unit was right by me and of course, it blew all night, but that's Florida. My friend needed a cooler room and a bed closer to the bathroom; I put up with the blowing noise for her safety.
The ramp from the pool area to the dining room/lobby was a bit narrow, but she managed it. As with all ramps,
I have to push her a little bit because she has a manual chair. It was difficult for her to turn on those ramps. Unless you are confined to a chair, you have no idea how important it is to have everything ADA accessible. It's the difference between a good trip and a totally miserable one.
The breakfast was delightful and I complimented the "chef".
