Vienna, the capital of Austria, is located about 120 miles (193 kilometers) northeast of Tauplitz, while Graz is 75 miles (121 kilometers) to the southeast.
It comes as no surprise that Tauplitz is such a hotspot for travelers; the region is home to a treasure-trove of terrific cities, attractions and landscapes. Be sure to head out to the Grundlsee and Kammersee in and around Bad Aussee, approximately 11 miles (18 kilometers) distance away. A trip to Hallstatt is another interesting option. It's around 17 miles (27 kilometers) away from Tauplitz and where you'll find the Halstattersee and Hoher Dachstein.
Approximately 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the northwest of Tauplitz is Bad Ischl, an important regional city and the home of Kaiservilla, Fahrzeugmuseum and Kaiserpark. If you're still looking for things to do, be sure to check out Lehar-Villa, Stadtmuseum and Jainzenberg before returning to Tauplitz.
Styria is home to some significant churches and other holy sites, perfect places to get a feel for Tauplitz's spiritual side. Get outside and make a tour of Styria's many open-air exhibits, gardens and open-air museums.
The Tauplitz area is a good place to get outside and participate in some great winter activities. When temperatures drop, grab your mittens and scarf and spend the day snowboarding and snow shoeing. Those adventurous souls in search of outdoor action can get their fix by signing up for a mountain climbing or tobogganing adventure.
When the time comes to check out and say "Tschüss", you'll have plenty of great memories and photos.
