Nice hotel... clean not far from town

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Moderately priced and close to town, shopping , restaurants etc...
Cons: Probably could use an elevator...elderly would have problems with 2nd floor access.
Location: Good location.... Tawas is a waterfront community with a nice shopping district and unique shops
Staff was friendly and room was adequate. Complimentary breakfast was low on food Sunday towards 10 am

Was a comfortable room.

Posted Oct 12, 2014
Pros: Met our needs for the night.
Cons: Most everything was fine.
Location: We were on our way to Oscoda to ride the River Queen Paddleboat.
Was easy to find being on a main strip. Handicapped parking was close to our room. Only one thing wrong and I forgot to mention it on the way out. The toilet tank had water running in it at all times. Pool area was nice but we forgot our suits so no swimming for us. Breakfast was ample. Front desk was helpful with finding our next destination. All in all, everything was fine.

Close to shopping in the small town shops.

The hotel was clean and nice. The only issue we had was we could not check in at 2 pm and we thought maybe we could check in early ... at 3 pm. The desk person said the cleaning people were there til 4 pm so he didn't know if a room was ready yet. Seemed strange because there was not but a couple cars in the parking lot. We asked if they were busy and he said no, this is our slow season. He seemed hesitant to check for us. But he did offer to hold a room on the bottom floor and when we returned to the hotel late that evening, the room was waiting with the paper work at the counter. We appreciated his honestly in doing what he said. The breakfast in the morning was a good one with options and great coffee!! I would go back and recommend this hotel.

Location was very good.

Posted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: The room we were in had a view of trees and grass. Better than the parking lot.
Cons: Staff that took pride in their work.
Location: Short drive to town. Great parks. Marina was a nice walk. Biked the bike path. It was very nice once you turn from the main road. Eat at Augies,
Room was good and clean. Girl at front desk was nice and helpful in her limited status. Jacuzzi was dirty and had scum floating in it. We arrived on a holiday and I guess no one worked in the pool area. It was shut down the next day. Asked for a toothbrush and was told they didn't have any. The breakfast area did not have an attendant. Had to ask the guy at the front desk for butter. The waffle iron had someones waffle in it that was burnt to a crisp. Front desk guy just sat watching tv.

Stayed in pet friendly room Yeh - no dog smell. Had a problem with a slow running drain - taken care of! Only wish that breakfast would have had some fruit or yogurt. Overall a nice stay.

Better than expected

Posted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: price & convienience
Cons: Halls seemed a bit worn out
Location: Close to public beaches and of course, the State Park.
We expected a King sized bed. We got it but we also got a Jacuzzi. Nice surprise. Quiet room.

need an elevator

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: nothing special
Cons: need elevator and better room maintenance
they need an elevator. We are retired and it was difficult carrying our luggage up a flight of stairs. Not disabled but climbing the stairs with luggage was hard. Would have been nice if this if "no elevator available" is noted when getting the room or on Expedia web site. rooms need better maintenance. hair dryer came off the wall, air conditioner/heater filter was "FILTHY" causing the air conditioner freeze up..

A great stay!

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: Everything was good. The breakfast was sufficient. Access to beaches was close.
Cons: As senior citizens we asked for a first floor room however found no elevator! Get an elevator!
Location: Close to beaches, close to shopping (Norman Street) a bowling alley nearby, many restaurants and pubs.
We had a most comfortable 3 night stay. The room was large and lovely and was perfectly clean. When we would return at the end of the day the room was cleaned and made up perfectly. Every employee we had contact with was polite and friendly. We've told everyone about the Bay Inn Tawas.

Nice hotel reasonably priced

My ony criticism would be the continental breakfast. A lot if guests standing around because food and condiments kept running out. The only person there to tend to things was also the only person tending the front desk. People were getting upset.
