Good location in Te Kuiti

Posted Jan 8, 2015
Pros: Despite being close to the road it was quiet.
Cons: A garden or BBQ area.
Location: Waitomo or gateway to National Park.
It is a location close to most services. Good for an overnight stay or Waitomo tour.

Nice people, nice place

Posted Jan 2, 2015
Nice clean room with a lanai. Room had a fridge, electric kettle, and an assortment of teas and coffee. The staff even gave us some milk so we could add it to our tea/coffee!

Love our room but a little noisy and shaky

Posted Dec 31, 2014
I booked a studio for my husband and me and the unit was quite spacious, secure, with aircon, sky channels and you can park your car just outside the unit. Very convenient. The restaurant, supermarket and gasoline station are just walking distance. But you can feel and hear the vehicles and train passing by.

MILES from the Caves

Posted Dec 29, 2014
Pros: Hotel room was clean. Nice selection of tea and instant coffee.
Cons: The blinds in our room were broken so we had to prop slats up to provide privacy. The AC beamed a bright blue light that kept my husband up.
Location: Nothing nearby--expect a 20-minute drive, with no traffic, to get to anything!
This hotel is basic and clean, but more like a backpackers' rest stop than a hotel. Furniture consisted of varnished plywood boxes screwed into the walls and there isn't a drawer in the place. We were super disappointed that it was so very far from the caves that none of the tour companies would pick up at this location for the activities. If you are desperate for a place to stay it would do in a pinch, but there are many better properties that would be much closer to the fun. Internet only allowed ONE device to be connected at a time! Also, our "river view" suite looked directly into the parking lot.

A comfortable stay

Posted Dec 24, 2014
Pros: The manager was very friendly, very approachable.
Cons: However, the room lights was not cleaned sufficiently so that we could see the dead insects on the fluorescent light cover whenever we turn it on.
Location: Too near the street so that one could hear the traffic at nights.
The hotel was comfortable and the manager Kath was very helpful, very nice in providing recommendations on where to go for food and so on.

The hotel is not actually in Waitomo is a short 20 mins drive, but if you don't have car might not be the best location, the room is nice, very quiet place.
