Short business stayPosted Mar 18, 2014
Pros: The single room I booked was very good. It was quite small, but certainly suitable for the short stay I was planning. bathroom was clean very nicely d
I booked the room at very short notice as the hotels I usually use in the area were full, so no 'prior knowledge' of the Guisborough. It turned out to be a very short but pleasant stay. The staff were excellent - very professional, and the room had the right mix of cleanliness, functionality and charm. I will be looking for an opportunty to stay here again in the future.

Best stay yetPosted Feb 12, 2014
Pros: service dog friendly character history
Cons: rooms lick of paint , but still not bad . Prices for bar food as high as the restaurant with out the trimmings .
Location: lots to do and see but I was their for hse hunting so didn't see much .
I booked the hotel to look for property in the area so didn't use the facilities as such but what we did use and the welcome was second to non. Me and my partner and Bella (dog) stayed in the hotel for two nights and it was a very pleasurable experience . In terms of catering for the dog their was a walking area and an entrance to the rear so removing the hassle of dogs and guests meeting . We used the restaurant food was good and reasonable priced but trying to get a table can be a hassle as the eating area is quiet small and people who are not residents also dine their adding to the some time long wait to be seated . over all 9/10 yes we had a small hick up with hot water but the staff sorted it out and for staff 10/10 excellent service and a very happy Bella and partner , yes I do intend to stay again may be a week this time cheaper than a kennel for the wife ? thank you expedia for your help in arranging this trip .

Stunning.Posted Oct 24, 2013
Pros: The grounds, at the bottom of the drive as you enter the hotel grounds there are llamas.
Cons: Fabric, carpets, curtains and bedding.
Location: The location is stunning. There are lovely little yorkshire villages all around plus the sea is very close.
The overall experience was great but we had to change rooms twice because some of the other rooms were not up to standard for a hotel of this kind. My husband comes from this area so he was a bit disappointed.

Pros: Friendly and efficient staff. very good food. The location.
Cons: A map of the hotel...it is easy to get lost if in the woodlands wing.
Location: The hotel is set in its own esate which is quiet and scenic, It is a 15 minutes walk to Guisborough where there are shops, bars and places to eat.

Great Base for North York MoorsPosted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: Quiet. Access to countryside & coast. Setting.
Cons: Charges for wifi & breakfast unnecessarily high. No fridge or ice maker.
Location: North York Moors - Whitby, Eskdale, Goathland, Hutton le Hole Coast - Saltburn, Sandsend Interest - South Gare
I am originally from the area, so revisiting. A great choice for a smart hotel experience, either for a stopover or a more serious stay. It is solid countryside from the hotel to Whitby. Rooms are modern, though some are in the attic with not too many views. Extra charges were high & the main disappointment, especially for the area & I'm sure will put many off altogether to eat out or bring own drinks in. £17.50 for breakfast. £5.99 for wifi. £9 for a 175ml glass of mid range wine. I wasn't expecting or wanting cheap, but these put me off spending all but bare minimum, which was a shame. Wifi should be free in a full service hotel (isn't it what you pay for?).

Amazing Food and Fanatastic Friendly ServicePosted Aug 15, 2013
Pros: The al a carte food in the evening was exceptional. I am a chefs daughter so pretty fussy!
Cons: The room we had was a ten minute walk from the restaurant. to be fair though this was good exercise.
Location: Teh location is ideal for visiting other places like Whitby, Redcar, Saltburn.
The amazing food and friendly service make this hotel stand out from the rest. As soon as you make your way up the drive you sense you are going to experience quality. We have stayed in a lot of hotels and this one is now top of our list.
