The hotel is good for only sleeping and that's it.
“A traveler from Holland”
Never ever i go back in this terrible Hotel. The Hotel write, we have travelercheque's and can pay with Credit card, but not at all from this, you need pay cash before to enter the Hotelroom. And take care, you need pay if you book online and again in Hotel if you arrived. So take any proof that you have pay online before you arrived in Hotel becouse i have pay 2 time's.
“"Absolutely not"”
Hotel Ophir is in a good location and has good prices. But it is incredibly run-down and poorly run. The lobby, used for the workers to sit, for guests to eat and relax, and for a television, is no larger than a closet. When I checked in, although my reservation had been made well in advance, I was told they had run out of rooms and I was put in a room off the lobby without a bathroom. It had no windows, a tiny wall sink, and a folding shower. The air conditioning stopped sometime in the middle of the night. No soundproofing from the lobby either. When I complained they said, "It's only for one night." It was quite unpleasant and they made no effort to find an alternate location, offer to refund my money, or anything else. The next morning, the free breakfast consisted of some spreads but no bread, lemonade and coffee. But that's ok because there were only two small tables to eat at anyway. Another guest told me the regular rooms did have bathrooms and windows but were also terribly run-down. On the other hand, it's about half a mile or so from the beach, and the person who checked me in was very friendly and went out of his way to help me find dinner and a ride to the airport.
“Terrible hotel, best location”
Other than Mary at reception and the hotel location, everything was terrible.
“Tel-Aviv's Best Hotel”
I stayed at the Ophir Hotel for 5 nights.Great location in downtown. Close to everything in the Tel Aviv cultural and business spheres, clean and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff. This hotel is excellent for such a low price.
“As Bette Davis would say, What a dump!”
Yes, I know that it's inexpensive but there are certain basic standards for any hotel. The shower curtain rod kept falling down whenever we touched it. There was a horrible sewer smell in the bathroom (on the third floor) that made us gag whenever we entered the bathroom. The air conditioning blew frigid air on me all night while my spouse sweated a few feet away. To its credit, the sheets were clean and it wasn't noisy, even though it's on a busy street. One desk clerk was a jerk, while the other couldn't do enough for us. I wouldn't recommend it and I'd never return.
