Great HostsPosted Oct 26, 2013
Pros: Hosts, general charm of the building and grounds, breakfast, options for common table or separate little tables for two.
Location: Therapeutic hot springs
I got in very late. I was met by the host, who showed me to my room without a whole lot of fuss. Very hospitable host with charming, welcoming lobby. The room was quaint and also a bit chilly. Radiant heat was a bit slow kicking on--but eventually did warm the room well. (recommend letting it warm while you go have supper) The pillows were not the best for a princess and the pea kind of sleeper like my self... however, I did happen to leave a very expensive french wrist watch in the room. I did not discover that I had left it behind until I received a call from the owner saying she had found my watch. She ended up sending back to me FED EX. I'm so grateful for the integrity that the owners showed. I will definitely return.

Cons: Turn heat down in the main house
Delightful, elegant, charming and will definitely be back. Hans and Ingrid run a 5 Star beautiful B&B and pour their heart into their establishments and breakfasts.

Wonderful choice for a place to stay in OurayPosted Oct 14, 2013
We stayed at the China Clipper one night during Fall aspen color season on our photo trip through Colorado. The place is a fine Victorian B&B with comfortable furnishings and gracious hosts. Very clean, one block from Main Street and good restaurants. I plan to stay there again when I find myself in Ouray.

B&B GetawayPosted Sep 8, 2013
This was our first stay at the China Clipper Inn. The thought that the owners were friendly and helpful with places to visit. The breakfast was also very good - different selection every day. The room was clean and comfortable, aside for the pillow cases of the spare pillows which, had clearly not been changed. I thought it was a bit odd that the sink was outside of the bathroom and the shower head was installed kind of high thus, spraying water everywhere. The hot tub was exciting however, if you have sensitive skin, you may experience some itching afterwards. My guess is the chlorine was on the high side. We stayed for three nights and overall, enjoyed it.

It was great, Hans makes a killer breakfast everyday. They don't live in house so you don't feel like you're taking up space in their home. The building itself is very nice, the rooms are cozy, everything is updated. The service was fantastic, couldn't ask for more. It was by far the best food in town, and the only place we were treated like family. Come to Ouray for the China Clipper and the amazing views, rent a four wheeler, don't expect to be amazed by the local food, The breakfast at the hotel and the muffins were the best thing we ate. This town really needs better local restaurants, if you're listening Hans, open up a lunch and dinner spot!

Great B&B in OurayPosted Aug 27, 2013
Pros: Reasonable price, clean and well kept inn, friendly inn keepers, and just around the block from main street.
Location: One block off main street in Ouray, so close to shops & restaurants. Ouray is known for 4-wheeling, and there is plenty of hiking and sightseeing.
Beautiful B&B with great hosts & wonderful breakfasts! Very comfortable room, nice garden area with hot tub in back which was great after hiking all day. We got good local hiking information and a hearty breakfast to get us up the mountain. Don't miss Hans' delicious fresh muffins in the morning, and if there are any left over they're out to snack on later. The inn & grounds were clean and well kept, other guests were very friendly, and we would definitely recommend & stay again.
