Close to a lot of wineries.

Nice room with a great bathroom, good bed and bedding. Enjoyed the patio overlooking the vineyard and the free wine tasting was nice. I would definitely return.

Excellent facilities and staff

Pros: Everything
Cons: I don't know
Location: We didn't get that far away, but dinner at the Southcoast Winery was very good.
I celebrated my 90th birthday at the Churon and was greeted by the staff in a royal manor! We spent two days at the bed and breakfast, and enjoyed the fine facilities with full satisfaction. We were so impressed by Damon and his crew of wine dispensors that we joined the Wine Club and are looking forward to the club parties. A fine experience. Len Maffioli

Location: Old town is fun
We went to Temecula for a wedding and stayed the night at Churon. The room was great with fireplace and beautiful views. Hot breakfast included.

The stay was for night and was nice. Although while we were at a wedding down in the garden, someone entered our room and moved several items around. Very strange.

Had fun, but not fully satisfied for the price.

The location and service was great. We felt though that it could have been a little cleaner. There was wall paper coming off the wall on the first floor. The shower had mold and smelled like mold. The sinks were dirty and the in room fire place had soot around the mantle. The location in which they have weddings still had old and filthy decorations. The staircase leading to the down stairs bar were dirty and needed moping. We had a good time but wish the up keep would have been better for the price of the room.

So much potential...but this hotel felt run down..

Posted Feb 20, 2015
The rooms are wonderful with fireplaces, spa tubs, comfy beds and balconies that overlook the vineyards. However, it's obvious this hotel, which structurally is beautiful and in a great location, is not managed well. The hotel interior is run down, scuffed walls and baseboards, peeling paint, dusty picture frames in the hallway. There was even dust on the sides of each carpeted stair...how difficult is it to vacuum the entire step? It looked and felt very "unkept". The staff were "ok", not super helpful and friendly, but polite. The wine dinner was set up in the lobby, which felt like an awkward location. The food was very mediocre. However, the breakfast, included in the room price, was excellent. Overall, our stay was enjoyable but unless they do some basic maintenance to the hotel interior, I don't see this hotel being able to compete with some of the other nice hotels in the area. We probably won't stay here again since there are other, better kept, hotel options nearby for the same price.

Decent hotel, but service could be much better

Posted Feb 12, 2015 on Hotels
My bf and I booked this hotel for a romantic birthday getaway and were sold by the pictures of the spa bathtub. We arrived a half hour before check in and went to the front desk area which wasn't the easiest to find since there are no signs outside letting you no where to enter. No one was at the front desk. After 10 minutes of standing there we decided to wander the halls to find an employee and came across two women who did not speak English. We went back to the front desk and called out hello a few times before someone attended to us. We got the keys to our room and were happy with our bathroom area, but felt the peeling paint and wallpaper could be touched up. Wine tasting for guest was at 5 and we enjoyed that however not a large selection. We bought a bottle of the Chardonnay and left for old town. Once we came back my bf decided to set up the room while I waited in the car. To his surprise the ice machine didn't work and the spa jets did not work. It was a HUGE let down since he was trying to put champagne on ice and draw a nice bubble bath. Next morning we went to breakfast in the hotel dining area which was small BUT we both loved the food. I went to check out after and again, waited around and called out hello a few times. After 10 minutes a woman came out because the phone was ringing and motioned me to hold on. I waited. She didn't ask about my stay. I informed her about the spa and ice issues which prompted her to ask if we knew to press the button :-/ really?

No Reservation but there was room at the Inn with Upgrade

Posted Jan 6, 2015 on Hotels
We arrived at Inn at Churon on a Thursday evening for a two-night stay and they did not have a reservation for us that evening even though we had prepaid Hotels.com. However, they were most welcoming as they indeed had room at the inn and upgraded us to a spacious suite with a patio balcony for our 2 night stay. The next day they contacted B&B and Hotels.com to settle the billing. The breakfasts were outstanding and the wine tasting great fun. We definitely will stay there again.
