Good mid range hotel in central locationPosted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Room was spacious but lacked basic essentials now for holiday travel. Staff are nice but food was poor. Pool is also salt water which was a shock...
Cons: Air con in rooms Fridge in rooms Better info on what the hotel offers
Location: Not much to do in PDLC. Loro Parque seems to attract people but I didn't go. Beach is good and lots of Italian restaurants but quality varies greatly!
Very nice staff which helps to hide the cracks as there is potential for this place but I think the lack of business means nothing will be spent on the hotel. Rooms need air con and a fridge. My drinks were warm every day and didn't sleep well due to being too hot. They also don't tell you about what the hotel offers such as a good gym which I would have used on the first two days given the overcast weather. Make sure you book transfers with your holiday as PDLC as at the opposite end of the island to the main South Airport so transfers cost me £50 per person each way. If more than 2 people you can get a private taxi as the fixed price is £110. Also considering hiring a car for the this cost. Supermarkets are excellent and offer good value for money. 70p for a big baguette, 45p for a small. £1 for a 2 litre bottle of Coke or Fanta. Lots of places doing deals so don't pay the extra for B&B or half board. It isn't worth it and you can walk to many cafes in 5 mins. The hotel in on a slight slope but easily to get up and down. The beach is 5 mins walk away too and offers the best option for sunbathing. Sunbeds on the beach are 3 Euros for the day.

Tidy and neatPosted Mar 29, 2014 on Hotels.com
Stayed two nights. Staff were really friendly and helpful! Gorgeous reception area and I liked the room with a view over the pool. There could be more fruits for breakfast, but the bananas there are just divine so a few but good ingredients are ok! :)

Convenient hotel to stayPosted Aug 8, 2013
Cons: There was no light in the bathroom
Nice people and good service. It has the main facilities required. Thought the rooms needs some updating. in the bathroom of the room there was no light and that was rather dissapponting - I guess was not in every room. Other than that its a copnvenient hotel to stay as for its location.

Value for moneyPosted Aug 1, 2013
Pros: Good pool and bar area. Great location.
Cons: Lots of traffic noise in our room
Location: Great location near city centre, only a short (flat!) walk into town.
Nothing special. The room was clean and functional. Location was superb. The pool and bar area were very nice. Improvements would be a fridge and air conditioning in our little room. Also, our room was near the street; got a lot of traffic noise during the night, especially bins being emptied.

Value for money and great staffPosted Oct 21, 2012
Pros: Staff, nice pool and pool environment, clean room.
Cons: Average breakfast though there was plenty of choice
Location: Very central - ideal
Very nice hotel with lovely helpful staff. Rooms are basic but super clean. Breakfast is average but there is a lot of choice. Good central location in a quiet spot. Would recommend to all.
Beautiful old hotel in great locationPosted Aug 11, 2012 on Hotels.com
Great atmosphere, nice and quiet with plenty of sun chairs around the pool.Do think they need to provide mini fridges in all the rooms but aside from that would definitely recommend this hotel.Great value in a fantastic location.

San Borondon is a typical run down hotel in Tenerife. It needs a lot of work down inside and outside of the building to keep it up to an acceptable level. For instance, a once pretty mural on the outside wall surrounding the pool could do with either re-painting or painting over, not just left in the state it is. The kitchen area was tiny and the miniumum of kitchen equipment is supplied. For instance a microwave would have been helpful as there is no oven supplied. We went to the hotel restaurant twice during the 2 weeks we were there and were very glad we did not book half-board. The choice of food was extremely limited. Would not go there again.

Excellent locationPosted Jan 18, 2012 on Hotels.com
This hotel is in an excellent location. Service was superb and the room we had was clean and comfortable - as was the rest of the hotel. It was also quiet depite it's central position in the town. We only stayed one night but have to say was very impressed. Staff were attentive and had good local knowledge and went out of their way to help.We were blessed with good weather but room was so comfortable and well maintained would have still been excellent in any case. Very, very good.
