Best customer service I've experienced in SpainPosted Apr 1, 2015
I can't fault this place, the hotel is in great condition, ALL of the restaurants were incredible and the customer service was the best I've experienced in Spain. Great facilities and food for our 2 year old, we didn't need to leave the resort. Can't wait to go back.

Great HotelPosted Mar 21, 2015
Cons: Poolside lunch menu needs a bit more choice
Location: Views of La Gomera and surrounded by Banana plantations

één van de mooiste hotelsPosted Mar 13, 2015
Pros: strand - prachtige zwembaden - verzorgd- en supere bedden in de kamers!
Cons: resto PAMPA

Very comfortable hotel, isolated, expensive golfPosted Mar 8, 2015
Pros: Nice large rooms, well equipped, super staff, very clean.
Cons: Booking meals in high season could be difficult - choice of dining has to be booked in advance. Breakfast can be a hassle when the hotel is busy
Location: Isolated within its own extensive grounds means a taxi to get anywhere. San Juan, only a 5 Euro ride away is a lovely town, no chance of walking there
We stayed 7 nights first week of March, superb weather. The hotel is isolated with no possibility of walking anywhere other than in the grounds. Taxi is essential to visit the nearby village of San Juan which is very pretty with nice beaches, lifeguards too. The Marsala restaurant there is fabulous. The food at the hotel varied; some excellent meals some not so. One meal that was poor was credited, we just paid for the drinks we had... There is a small private beach and you get a 'train' down and back, since the hotel complex is on a fair slope, golf course and tennis being at the top of the site, beach at the bottom. Great if you don't want to travel about, not so if you like a stroll to a bar in the evening. But the hotel does have good facilities, if you don't want to go out there's no need. However we ate at Marsala in San Juan, superb lunch, and El Rincon de Juan Carlos in Los Gigantes. This was a fantastic evening meal, Juan Carlos being one of Spain's best chefs. The quality of food in both places exceeds that at the Ritz-Carlton, even though we had a couple of excellent meals there - the salt-baked Dorada in El Mirador at the hotel was really lovely. Overall we were both pleased and not pleased. We like to get out for a stroll and couldn't, and whilst most meals were good one was very poor and another just too slow being served; waited 45 minutes for the main course.

Paradise in Easy Reach!Posted Mar 3, 2015
Pros: Everything. Super clean. Nothing is too much trouble! Facilities are 2nd to none.
Location: Don't need to go anywhere but there is a free shuttle to Playa de las Americas if you feel the urge!
We have been 3 times now and have booked again for nine months time. Can't fault anything! We feel like we are home every time. the staff really make it a perfect experience. They treat us like family!

Nice hotel but...Posted Feb 21, 2015
Pros: Good location and close to the lovely town of Playa San Juan.
Cons: Attention to detail regarding customer care.
Location: Quite and tranquil location but only 5 minutes by taxi from Playa San Juan which is a place well worth the visit.
There is no doubt that this is a fine hotel by European and American standards but the owners and staff could learn from spending time in the Middle and Far East. It lacks the finer touches in customer care and attention to detail that is displayed routinely in places like Dubai and further East. Would I return? Yes as it is in Europe but no if it was in one of the areas mentioned above as I would certainly be expecting more from them.

Enjoyable stay at a pleasant hotelPosted Feb 20, 2015
Pros: Staff are wonderfull and very accomodating. It's a nice pleasant hotel.
Cons: Room cleaning. The cleaners need to wipe the floor and dust daily otherwise the floor gets really dirty.
Location: Some restaurants recommeded by the hotel were ridiculously overpriced for an ordinary local eatery (150 ERO per meal). Jamon Jamon in SanJuan-great
We stayed at Ritz Carlton Abama for a week in February during half term. Travelled as a family with our 5 year old son. We always stay at 5 star hotels so they all are more or less similar (unless you stay at 5+ Emirates Palace Abu Dhabi or similsr) with their little faults here and there. I really enjoyed our stay at Abama though. Positives: There is this positive relaxing aura about this resort. Staff are excellent - very helpful - front desk, swimming pool guys, breakfast staff, waiters - can't fault the staff at all - very responsive, any requests acomodated within minutes with a smile! On arrival we were upgraded to a villa (booked standard room) by lovely Pedro - we didn't ask. Our room at villa was big, beautiful and quiet - tastefully decorated, big balcony, massive comfortable bed, huge bathroom. There always were sunlounges available by the pool despite 100% occupancy at half term. Going to and from the beach was very well organised -regular buggy service going up and down the hill. Negatives: Mainly room cleaning - cleaners turninig up before 9am trying to make the room which is ridiculously early when you are on holiday. They did not sweep or wash the floor or dust the furniture in the room though unless you specifically ask management for it - I complained a few times - the cleaners would then turn up and wipe the floor but would not clean the next day. Dining at the hotel restaurants is expensive -100 EUR ave -2 mains, bottle of wine, kids meal, no starters

Oasis resortPosted Feb 14, 2015
Pros: Golf on the doorstep. Great staff. Location and layout.
Cons: The eating offerings lack a buffet style restaurant. If you don't want a full restaurant meal the snack offerings are poor.
Location: the location is superb. We visited Mount Teide which is a stunning place although it was so busy we couldn't park!
went for some winter golf in the sun. No sun throughout 7 days there which had major negative impact. Had it been sunny hard to beat but facilities not so good for non sunny weather.
