Short break in Rome

Posted Mar 18, 2015
Pros: Clean and unfussy. helpful staff.
Cons: No improvements required.
Location: Good selection of local restaurants. All major attractions within (reasonable) walking distance although Vatican is better served by the Metro
Centrally-placed family run hotel. Spotlessly clean, lovely helpful staff. The room was on the small side but we were aware of this in advance from the hotel web-site. Excellent continental breakfast choice. Once again, the dining room was small but we never had to queue. Special mention for the lady fronting/hosting the breakfast room - a bundle of energy with a ready smile Our room was front facing on the fourth floor and there was a bit of traffic noise as it overlooked a busy street. Managed to get up to the fourth floor all week without the aid of the lift! The acid tests are whether it was value for money and would we be prepared to return to the same hotel?. The answer to both questions is a resounding yes.Thoroughly enjoyed.

Good hotel and nice staff near the station

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: Polite staff, clean room, near the train station.
Cons: Faster wifi!
Location: It's close to the central train station Roma Termini and to the colosseum - from either of these locations you can take the metro to many places.
The hotel is 5-10 minutes walk from the central train station in the direction of the colosseum. The staff were welcoming, gave me information about the area, and complimented me on my basic learned Italian. There was an elevator next to the reception so it was easy to take my luggage to the room. The room was very clean with minibar, tv and wifi internet - this was a little slow but enough to check email etc. The shower pressure and temperature were good and I did not hear much noise at night. I was able to check out early to go to the airport and take some breakfast early around 6.45 on a Sunday, before the organised time. I spoke briefly with the cleaning staff and they were also very polite, advising me to wrap up warmly since I was going to cold snowy Finland!

Super hotel in excellent location.

Being just 5 minutes from Termini and only 10 mins walk to the Colisseum, Hotel Amalfi is in a great position to see Rome under your own steam. The room was spotless and a good size (we had Room 101) for 3 people. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, we would certainly stay here again and would recommend to other travellers.

Zentral gelegenes gemütliches Hotel

Posted Jan 2, 2015
Pros: Die netten Mitarbeiter
Cons: Mehr frische Lebensmittel am Buffet. Frischer Kaffee statt Automat. Matrazen

Small, good value hotel in a convenient

Posted Dec 25, 2014
Pros: Located close to train station. Smaller hotel. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast area.
Cons: Our shower was small and dimly lit, so that may be a problem for some people
Location: Walking distance to historic part of the city. Close to trains and buses to get to other icons.
My daughter and I were in Rome for 5 nights and we wanted a smaller budget hotel close to the main train station. All the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Our room was small but clean, as with many hotels in Italy. Would go back to th Amalfi.
