"Eclectic and Cool"
This was a great hotel. The staff was very kind, knowledgable, and helpful. For example, they talked me from Termini Station to the hotel via trolly. They were very patient with me. Also, I forgot my power converter and they borrowed me one. The hotel is decorated in a very eclectic style that adds to the fun of the stay - art deco meets contemporary shabby chic? This is a nice contrast when viewing ancient art and ruins all day. There were always fresh roses in the sitting room and flower varieties growing in the sweet little courtyard. There is an elevator/lift. The building is historical and quaint. I wanted a European feeling hotel on a budget and Emona did not disappoint! The hotel serves a great breakfast buffet. The buffet included fresh fruits, cheeses, meats, olives, cucumber, tomatoes, bread choices, pastries, eggs, bacon, juices, tea, coffee, yogurt and cereal choices. My room was a standard size for a European hotel and had a great little bathing tub. The toiletries are very nice, however the bed was somewhat hard. If they upgraded to higher thread count sheets this hotel would be almost perfect. Also, location was close to metro (underground subway), buses, and trolly cars for reaching tourist sites and other plazas.
