Great Hotel with Great LocationPosted Sep 4, 2013
Pros: Right in the Heart of Orvieto - the king size room was large enought for 4.
My family recently stayed one nite at the Grand Hotel Italia. The reason for staying at the hotel was that they had a room that slept 4 adults. The room was very large, which included a king size bed, a twin bed, and a rollaway bed. The ceilings were at least 12 feet high, including 2 by windows that opened up to the street below. The location was perfectly located. The staff was friendly. The breakfast in the am was provided a wide range of cereals, cold cuts, pastries, juices, and coffee. Highly recommend.

Spacious RoomsPosted Sep 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
Our room was very well appointed and large. The staff was very helpful and the lobby is quite welcoming. We got a good recommendation for dinner and directions to everything. Be sure to make a reservation for dinner at Trattoria del Moro Aronne. It's very close to the hotel. A 3 course dinner, bottle of wine and dessert and limoncello was 66euro. It is known for the creme brûlée.

The room was great! Really great views no matter which side you stay on (looking out over the town or over the valley). Very clean, very nice. The only wart on this place is it has a pretty awful breakfast, which is surprising given how nice it is otherwise. But that's pretty minor.

Nice locationPosted Feb 12, 2013
Stayed one night on our way to France. Overall the hotel was pleasant. The location in the town was wonderful. The bed was uncomfortable and we are use to the harder Italian beds. The breakfast was uninspiring.

very pleased with this hotel and great locationPosted Aug 8, 2012
The hotel and its staff were friendly and helpful although the front desk staff had limited english which made some questions hard to get answers to. The hotel is in a great location, the rooms are a good size, and overall it was a very good experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great locationPosted Jul 23, 2012
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff
Cons: average rooms
Stayed in July 2012. Great location in Orvieto. Close to the Duomo and Piazza de Republica. The rooms and bathrooms are average but clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have garage parking for 10 euros daily, but they told us we could park next to the hotel for free. When we had a ticket on our car the next morning, the hotel agreed to pay for it, and talked to the police.

A decent hotelPosted Jun 6, 2012
Pros: Quiet, comfortable room.
Cons: The small shower.
Location: Fine, not the trendiest but not too far from everything.
The location was OK, you could walk to a lot of sites nearby or catch the metro. The room was a good size but the shower was tiny. Breakfast was ample. Everything was clean.
