Great staff who were always friendly and helpful. You will need a car to get to town but there are good towns nearby

Very Enjoyable StayPosted Apr 22, 2012 on Hotels
Nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscany surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. 5 min to local markets. 25 min from charming Arezzo, a beautiful 1.5 hour drive to Sienna, and < 1 hr drive by highway to Florence. Beautiful and clean place to stay with excellent service. Good breakfast.

DeludentePosted Jan 29, 2012
L'antica villa è in realtà un agriturismo in una struttura moderna di fronte alla villa. Il personale non è per niente accogliente. Colazione servita in un salone dove c'era una temperatura glaciale. Lo sconsiglio vivamente.

This hotel was not what we expected at all. Quite far from the village, breakfast was really poor and bad, one day even with mouldy bread, rooms are not very clean and very dark, and no soul at all. We stayed in this hotel mid june for 3 nights but you can find much better and nicer places in this area.

I'm the owner and I'm very sorry for the trouble of this Guest, but I don't know why he said nothing to the Receptionist ( during 4 days ) : maybe we was able to help him, also changing the room if possible. None of the others Guests ( we had almost 40 Guests ! ) in the same period had problems with the cleaning or ' mouldy bread ' ; anyway we are always available to try to satisfy our Guests . About the distance from the village : our Agriturismo is a country hotel and we describe it ( also with googlemap ) exactly the location ( 3,5 km far from the village Loro Ciuffenna ) and I think that the outside photos show that the place is in the country.

Great accommodationPosted Jun 2, 2009
We really enjoyed our stay and would recomend this hotel to anyone who enjoys a quiet getaway. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Swimming pool was great (we had it to ourselves which was an added bonus). There is plenty of places to sit out and enjoy a glass of wine (all with lovely views). Overall, a lovely hotel.

Most relaxing holiday everPosted Aug 11, 2008
Just returned from 2 wonderful weeks at Poggitazzi! Firstly note that this is NOT a hotel! - maid service is extra, there is no room service and you won't find a bar! What you will find is very comfortable authentic accommodation in a most tranquil setting - the perfect place to get away from it all and a great base from which to explore the beautiful Tuscan countryside. We stayed in a one room appartment with our 2 children which had limited self catering facilities on a bed and breakfast basis, which was excellent. Dinner was available on Saturday night at the mansion house and the 7 courses were extremely good value - highly recommended! We were pleasantly surprised by Loro Ciuffenna itself - a beatiful small town with several excellent restaurants; we often enjoyed gelato on the bridge admiring the stunning views. Can't wait to return!

Perfect for chillingPosted Jul 14, 2008
We found the staff very helpful (if not on siesta) and the villa generally very good. The poll can fill very quickly with kids and the villa is about 15 minutes further away from the main Tuscan tourist sites than you would really like. That said it is stunning and the pool and rooms are large. Try and get a large room since the doubles do not have self-catering facilities and contrary to the website, dinner is served twice a week. The nearest restaurant is about a 2km walk which gets a little hairy in the dark. Otherwise you need to drive into Loro Cuiffenna for everything which is more 5 km than 4.

A Wonderful Hotel! A Real Must Stay!Posted Apr 24, 2008
This hotel was a wonderful find for our family of four(children 6,and 7). We spent a week at Poggitazzi in April and loved every minute of it. The apartment with kitchen and 3 beds was very large by european standards, comfortable and well equipped. The farm itself was gorgeous. It had breath taking views, miles of hiking trails, and immaculate grounds. The view overlooking the Tuscan countryside was stunning. Lots of outdoor dining places overlooking the valley, firepits, a playground, pool, horses, everything you could need. The staff was excellent. Accommodating our every need and beyond. We had an excellent tour of the delicious olive oil production, and a sumptuous wine tasting, plus a large spread of wonderful food each morning for breakfast. The location is close to Florence (an easy train ride if you choose not to drive) and right outside of Arezzo. We plan to return to this hotel in the future. And it is easily a four star find, for a two star price. Excellent value for the money! The best you can find! We will definitely be back!
