Pleasant stay in Tewkesbury

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Friendly front desk staff; comfortable and attractive bar area; convenient access to abbey and other highlights of the town
Cons: Stairs are very difficult to negotiate for anyone with mobility problems.
Location: Bell Inn is across the road from one of England's great parish churches, Tewkesbury Abbey; several good restaurants are nearby as well.
Very convenient location and mostly friendly staff, although some restaurant staff members were fairly indifferent. Very comfortable bar seating area. Sleeping room was very comfortable, although one window would not open. Steps are awkward and difficult to use for anyone with mobility problems.

Needs a little TLC

Posted Jun 27, 2014
Nice enough but the place is a little tired, wifi down all week, boiler gave up on the last night so no hot water, and some strange sounds from the plumbing.

Time has stood still

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: Convenient for our purposes - an overnight stop
Cons: Needs a complete make-over
Location: good location for the Abbey
previous stay here was about 30 years ago. Don't think anything has changed since!

Lovely old Inn/Hotel let down by being a bit jaded

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: The food was very good.
Cons: Cleanliness in the bathrooms. The shower in our room was heavily encrusted with black water mould.
Location: Tewkesbury has lots of things to do and see. A walk round the Heritage Trail (pamphlet from the Tourist Info Centre) is very interesting.
A good place to lay ones head. An interesting and historical Inn providing good affordable meals all day, and a good breakfast as well.

Very nice room on the front but rather noisy with main road traffic when windows were opened. Excellent shower room and very good breakfast. Have stayed before and will stay again as the location is ideal for us.

Very traditional hotel but well modernized

Posted May 28, 2014
Pros: Very central, Abbey is just across the road. Genuinely old but all necessary comforts present
Location: Take a boat
Nice but smallish rooms are reached via higgeldy-piggeldy corridors which adds to the period feel. Very helpful staff. Atmospheric bar and good restaurant attached
