Tha Tako Vacations
Tha Tako is situated about 130 miles (209 kilometers) north of the national capital Bangkok.
While it may be a temptation to just kick back and relax while holidaying in Tha Tako, remember, the surrounding region's diverse natural sights, cities and towns are never more than a day trip away. Phayuha Khirim, 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the northeast, and Nakhon Sawan, 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the east of Tha Tako are also waiting to be discovered.
Sampling the food eaten by locals is usually about more than just satisfying appetites. It is also a window into places and people's lives. Taste the local specialties, like khao kan chin (steamed pork blood and rice) and khanom chin nam ngiao (rice with pork blood sauce). Nakhon Sawan (province) dishes such as kanom moji (rice cake) are also great to try. For a non-alcoholic option, try the flavors of North Thailand.
The true meaning of a destination echoes not just within it's monuments and mountains, but also within its language. Making the effort to learn some common Thai words and phrases will make your time in Tha Tako infinitely richer. Why not say "Yàak dtên ram măi?" In English, this means "Would you like to dance with me?" You'll also realise that knowing "Kun maa jàak tee năi?", which means "Where are you from?", can make all the difference.
As you conclude your stay, pack up your gear and wish Tha Tako "Laa gòn ná" (farewell).
