The staff at Augusta Bay are what make this property shine. Friendly and warm, you immediately feel part of the family. The proximity to the beach and short stroll into George Town were perfect. The rooms are a little outdated but still clean and well maintained. Only disappointment was that the hotel restaurant wasn't open and there were limited options nearby. I was also surprised by the $10p/n Expedia fee I was charged on check-out which wasn't otherwise mentioned anywhere.

While a continental breakfast was available, the restaurant and bar where not open and had not been open for a while, unlike verbiage in the description The property is very outdated, with limited maid service, but it is on the water and close to other restaurants and activities.

Best place to stay in Exuma, location is perfect. We visited in 2013 and stayed at Augusta Bay and loved it. Still love it and understand that circumstances have contributed to a bit of a decline in property maintenance. Hopefully things will be spruced up a bit before our next visit. We will definitely be back. Arlene and Frances very kind and helpful. Breakfast options with a little more creativity would be nice and hope to see the bar and restaurant open in the future.

The view from our corner king room was incredible. Staff were helpful by allowing us to check in at 8 am, after an early airport arrival. Staff went above and beyond to help arrange a boat excursion, assisted with taxis, and follow up regarding covid related travel requirements

Our stay at Augusta Bay was wonderful! We have been coming to George Town for nearly 20 years by land and sea and have never stayed here before. The next time we are in town I will book here again without hesitation. DJ, Francis and Arleen were all incredibly helpful and kind. The view is beyond amazing. Having a rental car would be helpful but the walk into town is easy albeit busy with local traffic. Augusta Bay is a gem!

Would like to come back for a week. Reminds me of Negril In the old days. A great place for vagabonds who like it slow, peaceful and quiet. Gorgeous ocean here.

Location is great, staff is super friendly. Restaurant and bar are closed still so you need to bring your own food abd drinks if you are hanging out in the hotel, or go to a couple of places next door.

I stayed at the Augusta Bay for 5 nights. When I arrived I was told I had to pay a $10 a night Expedia fee which I didn't understand and I never had to pay a fee before for using Expedia. My room was not ready when I arrived at 3 and had to wait 2 hrs for it to be ready. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was limited to a few items cereal, fruit, granola bars, muffins, yogurt and juice and coffee. The area was convenient to Gerorgetown but you still need a vehicle to get around. The restaurant was closed but there was access to 2 other restaurants within a short walking distance at the other resort properties. Internet consisted of a Wifi Hotspot which was located in my room and was shared between multiple rooms but worked ok.

We apologize for the room not being ready on time. We had an unexpected full house the night before and with limited staff, due to COVID, we had an unusual delay. Our complimentary breakfasts are a standard continental at the moment, but from next week our restaurant will be open for breakfast and lunch. We have been upgrading our kitchen. There are other restaurants in close proximity. Thank you so much for staying with us.

The staff is beyond amazing!!!!! We loved the staff. They were the best anyone could ask for. The amenities were not good. No bar or food, but the view was amazing staff amazing!

Thank you for the nice review. The bar is open to serve drinks every day, with Frankie Bananas - outside bar, is open on Friday nights. Breakfast is served to guests and we will open for breakfast and lunch, starting next week. The island is slowly getting back to normal and we open facilities to meet demand.

As a resident of The Bahamas, Visiting Exuma this past weekend I booked with Augusta Bay I got to the resort at about 6:30 & front doors were locked went to their side door to get to the front desk & there was NO ONE at the desk to greet me The place was dark absolutely NO employee was working Can you believe this? My spouse and I called out so someone can atleast come out still NO ONE There were people out on the deck at the barside We went to the guy that I guess was the bartender they left instructions with him to tell us where our room would be.Ms Francis the receptionist is finaly on duty The room had NO hot water she said it’s a trick to it to get hot water The room smelt musty the room I would say road side We requested the room we paid for She stated that she leaves at 2Pm and manager leaves 5pm NO staff on premises after both leave The mngr said he lives 5 minutes away in the event of emergency he would make himself available To add injury to insult he did not leave a # they are partially open We were told you are informed of this upon arrival if you are lucky enough to arrive within there designated working hours This is UNACCEPTABLE this is NOT A NORM for the island as we frequent there Exuma is one of the nicest islands lots to do there It is my goal to help you guys make and informed decision The hotel however is not worth the money in its current state I would recommend visiting the island for certain but finding other accommodations.

The manager discussed this guests complaints at length and we thought all had been resolved. He apologized that the front desk lady was not there to greet him as she was assisting at the bar, which was unusually busy for a Friday night. The guest has stayed with us on three previous occasions and knows his way around. His room was not ‘roadside’ - all our rooms are ocean facing - within 40 feet of the water. He did have hot water but turned the device the wrong way. After his complaint we moved him to a room closest to the water. Getting back to regular business, post COVID, has been tough and sometimes our staff have to multi task - hence the front desk lady not being at the front desk.

Cute hotel on a nice beach!
It was a very friendly and very nice resort. They gave us a free upgrade to q King Oceanside room. Nice walk out room to the pool and ocean. Very accommodating to early arrival and leaving late. 5 stars all the way! *This being said, this room was advertised as having an onside bar and a big continental breakfast. Understanding that COVID caused restrictions. They keep their advertising of this being open, there is some beer and some bottles of liquor they say they can serve to you outside, but no one to do it for you. The bar on the pier that looks fun is only open Friday nights. Things may change soon. There are a couple good restaurants and bars feet away.

We booked in May 2020, paid in full thru Expedia 3 rooms 3 couples. We wanted to experience an off resort site and extend our stay in Exuma by one day. I tried starting in early March to contact the hotel. To the point that I contacted the Bahamas tourism to determine whether they were even open. Once on island I called 8 times between 4/6 & 4/7.I did try to stop in on one of my outings early in the week but no one was there Finally 27 hrs before checkin the hotel contacted me via cell. They had my number all along. Clerk told me of additional fee for cleaning (no problem..Covid and all), restaurant and bar closed, they wanted to know the exact time we were going to check in and could we check in early? I explained that I had booked an off island excursion & not before 3pm check in. All the attempts to contact the hotel, put a damper on my vaca. Unfortunately, one member of our party had a minor knee injury, so walking to the fish fry was going to be out of the question. I called hotel explained the injury, and how walking to fish fry out of question. No suggestions to help with food etc. I asked about cancelling, the female manager said nicely contact Expedia, Augusta Bay couldn't do a thing. I feel if they were sincere about hospitality they would have done something. Currently out $708.45. Expedia aka black hole. Compensation is reasonable request when you don't provide what was booked. I saw response from neg review...that said alot about Augusta Bay.

4th trip to Augusta Bay Inn. Tremendously Friendly staff as usual! The inn and island are still feeling the effects that Covid has had on tourism. However, the staff preservers with what they have to work with. The restaurant is closed, but no biggie here; there are plenty of places nearby to eat and you still get an included continental breakfast as promised. Amenities is a funny word - you are on a quant island in the Atlantic Ocean. They got a pool - with a pool guy; they got WiFi; they got a small fridge if you ask for it; the shower water is warm, and the towels are clean and changed daily - what else do you need for the price you are paying? Oh, and the water - the beautiful blue-green reason you came here is 20 feet from the room! This place ain’t perfect, the island is not Nassau, and I guess if you are a pampered type then Sandals is up the road. You do get what you pay for, and this place is great to rest your head between your daily adventures in paradise. Please Enjoy!

Do not stay!!! Hotel is pretty much closed. Arrived on the island to stay at this hotel and found out it was closed, no amenities, no restaurants. Not sure if the hotel is belong sold off. We were never informed that this would be the case prior to arrival, guests should be able to make an informed decision. There was not even housekeeping amenities available. We were able to find more fitting accommodations once we arrived and contacted the hotel to cancel. We were told by the manager Tom that we would be refunded, since we never spent one single night of our stay there. The hotel informed us that we needed to go through Expedia and we did, only to be informed that the hotel denied our request for a refund. Simply and utterly unacceptable! I would like to be contacted directly by the hotel with some type of concession or some percentage of my money refunded.

The review above is astounding - to say the least. Our staff waited late into the evening for their arrival, but they were ‘no shows’. It is now a week later and we have never spoken to or seen these people. They have never set foot on Augusta Bay property. We can only assume that they were coerced by a taxi driver to go elsewhere and that he will sort everything out for them. Them stating that the hotel is for sale is untrue. Them stating that there were no house keeping amenities is untrue - how would they know? We do not have a manager named Tom. They made no contact with our management whatsoever - to either cancel their reservations or request a refund - all refunds are done through Expedia. This type of review is very disturbing because it is completely and utterly false - as can be seen by all the wonderful post - pandemic reviews that we have received

Great place, small beach front hotel. Staff friendly and allowed early check in. Very quiet, especially due to CoVid and few tourists. Their restaurant was closed but they provided a continental breakfast in the room. Easy 3 minute walk to a great restaurant. Enjoyed our 1 day stay prior to our plane.
