Best hotel in Den Haag

Posted Sep 1, 2013
We cannot claim to have stayed in many hotels in Den Haag, but this was certainly one the best hotels we have stayed in anywhere. The beautiful decor throughout the hotel was really enhanced by the sense of tradition and the history of the hotel itself, and it was nice to have a book in the room with the story of the hotel since it was first built and to the present day. Equally important, the hotel atmosphere was matched by the friendliness of the staff. We had lived in the Netherlands for seven years and had walked past this hotel many times, so it was a great opportunity to stay here for a long weekend when we came back to revisit our old old haunts and favourite restaurants.

Old world luxury in the heart of The Hague.

Very historic, beautiful hotel. Excellent location within walking distance of many museums, shopping and restaurants. My room was updated as well as large and extremely comfortable, with all modern conveniences. The interior is somewhat dark, but is in keeping with its decor.

Luxurious stay in a great location

Posted May 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
You feel welcome & cosseted from the moment you step in the door of this luxurious hotel. Service always with a smile & nothing is too much trouble. Fabulous decor throughout, our room was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. As we stayed during a theatre festival, this hotel was the perfect location for theatre, also great for the lovely shops and restaurants on the Denneweg. Breakfast is VERY expensive so if not included in your room rate, try one of the great cafes and bars in Denneweg, as we did.

Nice but very cold hotel

Posted May 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room temperature waas way too low and the thermostat only enabled circulation of air which made it feel even colder. Otherwise nice and comfortable room.

Too cold - yet good hotel

Posted May 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room was far too cold for me, yet solved the second evening by borrowing a mobile radiator. Otherwise all in good shape.

Gorgeous historic hotel

Stunning rooms and interior, fit for royalty and ambassadors, and you can learn about all the famous people who have stayed there. If you want lush decor, grand tradition, older clientele and celebration of empire, this is your place. I may not stay there again as I prefer a bit less tradition and empire but still rate it highly. Tiny gym but with decent equipment.

Dear Clio, Thank you for staying with us and for your wonderful words. We are delighted to learn that you enjoyed your stay with us. Hotel Des Indes was built in 1858 and still breaths the atmosphere of the old days although completely refurbished. We do understand that you might prefer a different style during a next stay, however, it would be our pleasure to have you back as our guest. Kind regards, Rem Bastiaens Hotel Manager
