Service was slow at evening mealtime, and almost non-existent at breakfast, the latter causing us to think it was grossly over-priced and we used it therefore only once. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

Pros: The athmosphere is of a Grand Hotel...that remains!
Cons: Communication between staff. Resolving problems encountered by guests. Update Internet communication system throughout the hotel.
Location: Scheveningen and the beach is just wonderful!
No wifi. No Internet cables available. Staff contradicts each other on avalability of other room types. Far too many appologies instead of solutions. Valet parking is almost a must, bc bearby garage is always full, and very expensive. Room service extra charge is excesivily high and quality meals regular.

Beach hotelPosted Sep 3, 2013
Pros: The location
Cons: Somehow the entrance/lobby is quite modest and doesn't match the grandness of the overall design.
Location: Location is fab, right on the beach with a frequent tram connection to Den Haag. On a sunny day, life can't get better.
In Holland this is one of the most famous hotels with a rich history. The rooms was great, excellent sea views and a lovely balcony. The beds extremely comfortable and we all had a good night sleep. Because of the nice sunny weather we stayed out on the beach most of the time so we didn't make much use of the indoor activities. There is a bar and the breakfast room is stunning.

History and beach in one packagePosted Jul 6, 2013
Pros: Location on the beach.
Cons: Faucet on sink in bathroom spills water onto counter unless turned on strongly.
The hotel is majestic in structure, superbly located on the beach and is within easy reach by tram to city center. We had a brief but excellent stay. Staff was courteous and always helpful. The only meal we had at the hotel was breakfast which offered an excellent range of high quality choices.

Good hotel but I'd like better wifi as standardPosted Apr 22, 2013
My stay at the hotel was good and the beachside location was enjoyable. I found the staff friendly and particularly enjoyed the meal that I had in Kurzaal - the hotel restaurant. Only two downsides: 1. The free wifi in the room is slow. You have to pay for a premium package if you want access to wifi which is at a decent speed. Personally, I find this disappointing. 2. This is very much a matter of personal taste but I didn't find my bed comfortable; I couldn't sleep through the night whilst I was there. I would go back but probably only on leisure. For business I'd look for a hotel offering better wifi as standard; there are plenty of them.

Opulent yet friendly hotelPosted Jan 12, 2013
Pros: Sea view and breakfast
Cons: Closed Fitness suite
Location: Central location with lots of nice restaurants nearby
Lovely hotel, the Kurhall is worth seeing alone. They closed the fitness suite for refurbishment without telling anyone but I go free breakfast in compensation and they offered me a taxi to a nearby hotel to use their treadmill.

Great location but expensivePosted Sep 17, 2012
Pros: The location which is overlooking the beach and there are many restaurants immediately on its doorstep both beachside and townside.
Cons: We brought friends along to see our hotel and the terrace bar was closing (only 6.15pm) - very disappointed as view of sea beautiful there
Location: Very good for beach and bars/restaurants
On arrival we were given an upgrade from a superior sea view to a family seaview which had two large beds and more spacious for us (2 adults and a 9 year old). However after unpacking completely we discovered that the air conditioning was not working at all. Had to wait half and hour for the duty manager to come and we were told we would need to move to another room - not good as we were very tired from our journey, had completely unpacked, and also had a wedding to get ready for the following day. It was discovered that all three rooms in a row had no air conditioning so the hotel offered us the use of the room through from ours so that the interconnecting doors could be left open and the balcony doors opened slightly in each room to allow some air to flow. This worked well and we were given the use of this room for the rest of our stay (3 nights) despite the air-conditioning being repaired on the day after our arrival. So we were grateful for this extra little luxury. We were there for a family wedding and on inviting relatives to the Kurhaus for pre-dinner drinks we were very disappointed to discover at 6.15pm that we could not have them on the beautiful indoor terrace bar overlooking the beach and sea as they were closing!! We were told to go to the indoor bar which was fine but not what we had hoped for. We cannot comment on the food in the Kurhaus as we have always eaten in one of the many restaurants nearby which also offer good breakfasts.
