Many problems!

We stayed at the Renaissance in Chicago for four days. We had a great view of the river, which we paid for. However, the room itself had many issues . We had to call to get a chair to sit in. The faucet in the bathroom only had warm or hot water. The cold didn't work even though we called maintenance and they presumably fixed it, which they did not. The heater kept clicking on and off and didn't work properly. Insultingly they charged us for wi-fi!

It started off bad because the hotel is under major construction which would've been nice to know. But then add crazy air conditioning and a below average restaurant and you get the picture.

Great Location

Pros: Location & the view - it was perfect! Near everything we wanted to visit.
Cons: Continue renovating throughout the hotel. The upkeep has done well - however the wear is starting to show despite the newer decor.
Location: Sears Tower -- yes, SEARS. Chicago Blackhawks store, Disney store, Watertower Place, Millenium Park, great restaurants & Chicago river.
We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was pleasant and helpful when they provided us with a great place nearby for breakfast before ice skating at the Maggie Daley ice ribbon. The pool was very warm - but enjoyable. It looked like there had been a whirlpool in the area at one time, but subsequently "filled in", unfortunately. The rooms were decorated wonderfully, however, the carpet in our room needed to be updated badly, and there was a tear in one of the lamp shades. The beautiful view of the Chicago river however kept our mind off of those minor downfalls.

New Years Eve 2014. Somewhat noisy in between rooms. Windows drafty. Room service very good. Excellent location to theater district.

Best view in town

We did pay extra for the view, but it was worth it. Nice, clean room, comfortable beds, and very, very good restaurant.

Pros: Very clean hotel, courteous staff.
Cons: Provide better toilet paper, Cheaper wife (if not free), Put more people at the front desk during busy check in/out time.
Very nice hotel overall. Very Cheap toilet paper, very expensive wifi.

Perfect location for chicago theater. View, room high end. Great street restaurant had wonderful food and view but surprisingly bad service. Would definitely stay here again and hope for better staff at restaurant
