Close to airport

Posted Mar 30, 2015
This is a typical 3 star hotel that is close to the airport. It is clean and comfortable, we were on one of the lower floors in tower 1 and the view was awful. We had a bus pass and was able to use that to get back to airport on last day and saved on taxi (~$20) by crossing the pedestrian bridge to tropicana.

Aging Rooms....

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms need to be renovated.
It is glamorous on the outside, but one step inside the room and it takes you back three decades. The rooms are bare bones, with old carpets, and badly in need for a renovation. Although we were in a non-smoking room, it smelled of smoke. The location is good with convenient access to the strip.

Descent hotel for the price and location

On the strip, not a far walk from everything. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was nice when we had to call them about our TV missing a power cord. Fixed the issue right away. Would stay again.

Family of 4, 1 bed

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: The price through Expedia and location
Cons: Staff was rude, room was tiny, rates we're ridiculous at the front desk.
Location: Location is ideal.
We were not very pleased with our stay at the Excalibur. I have been to Las Vegas many times, and have stayed at the Excalibur probably 10 times, and I hate to say it, but it seems to be getting worse every time. They gave us a room with one king size bed, when asked if we can get 2 smaller beds they told us they didn't have availability. They never attempted to work with us to better accommodate our needs. I asked if they had availability for an extra night, and they told me they did for $120 something/per night (keep in mind we spent about $50 through Expedia). I walked away checking Expedia, and it was the same $50 ballpark. Anyhow, we stayed at the Stratosphere and we were treated far better. The rooms were also much nicer, and it was cheaper!

Location: The location is great to get to other attractions.
The hotel is extremely dated and in poor condition. The air system is terrible.

Clean and fun. Didn't like that the pools were closed since I paid $67 extra to use them!

Subpar

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: I did like how friendly the staff were and how efficient the front desk lady was.
Cons: Quicker room service, a fridge, and/or a microwave would be nice.
Location: You're connected to the Luxor hotel! You can see attractions like Jabbawockeez and what not. Also, take a cab down the strip to eat or drink!
I walked into the room only to find two queen beds with nothing but a thin sheet on top of a think blanket. The room had an odd smell and a dent in the wall. The bathroom wasn't too bad except for the fact that the toilet paper dispenser was incredibly far from the toilet. I had to lean over and reach for it. The hair dryer that was provided was also super tiny and it didn't really do much for anyone's hair. I stayed in Tower 1 and didn't get much of a view either. I'm glad I spent the entire day outside rather than coming home to this. Overall, you get what you paid for.

Pros: The new buffet was perfect, they even had gluten free options available which is very hard to find in Vegas. The staff were lovely and helpful.
Cons: I wish they were changing their mattresses, and add more channels to their TV. Internet reception in the room was horrible.
Walking distance to a lot of places close by, the walk way to Luxor and Mandalay Bay on one side and another walkway to New York New York and MGM on the other side was very nice. They upgraded my room when I checked in without any extra charges. It's very close to the South Premium Outlet and the Airport. The internet reception could use major improvement. Not good for a romantic trip, I was traveling for work and it worked for me.
