Very disappointing.

Posted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: The concierge was very helpful, and maintenance staff that came to tell us we would have to move were very polite and brought us coffee.
Cons: Pretty much everything!
Location: Good location at the south end of strip.
Had never stayed at the Tropicana before, but the price was right. Will never stay there again, no matter what the price is. It is old, and looks it. Had to be moved because our shower was flooding room below us. Room was not properly kept - did not throw out garbage, did not replace bottles of water, played slots in lobby and never saw a waitress, lost a camera lens cap down elevator shaft, told several staff members about it, could see it on floor, but never got it back. Shower head was placed for someone about five feet tall.

Excellent makeover and staff!!

Posted Mar 21, 2015
Pros: Just about everything!! The room was clean and bed very comfortable. The staff went the extra mile and were very friendly and accomadating.
Cons: Walk from Club Tower to front of Hotel
Location: They are on the strip and have a great pool
I am extremely pleased with my stay at the Tropicana. The hotel staff were excellent and very friendly. The food at the beach cafe was excellent and the wait staff was top notch. The only gripe I had was the walk from the club tower to the fron of resort was rather long. Other than that I would recommend this resort to anyone and will stay here again.

Not a happy stay

Posted Mar 21, 2015
I had very good opinion on Hilton Double tree hotels. But after staying here I was so upset. I booked room with 2 queen beds but they gave 1 queen bed room and asked us to stay. After couple of requests they brought 1 rollover bed and left in the room. We struggled to arrange it. I never expect this kind of experience from Hilton

Somewhere to Sleep

Posted Mar 20, 2015
Pros: The one area where this hotel did stand up to its reputation as a Hilton was the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The biggest room for improvement would not be to advertise yourself as new unless everywhere a guest may stay is new. Make sure rooms are spotless.
Location: The hotel is close to the airport and right on the strip across from the Excalibur and MGM grand. Easy access to the bus.
I chose this hotel as it was on the strip and had the Expedia VIP+ rating. I was also looking forward to staying at the "new" Tropicana as it was being advertised. The experience did not start well when we arrived there was two people on the desk trying to check in 30 people. It took between 30 and 45 minutes to get checked in. This experience was duplicated on check out as there was only one person on the desk. The room was far from new. The shower was stained and the fixture was held together with teflon tape. Showering was an interesting experience with bursts of hot water interrupted by cold water. The walls were thin and conversations on either side could be easily listened to. There was a huge red stain on the carpet in the room. One nice thing is the view was great, looking directly at the New York and MGM hotels which was unfortunately again obscured by the white adhesive they have on all the windows. The air conditioner blew like it had asthma. We arrived and it was 27 in the room by the next morning it approached 20 degrees having been set at 16 (it never went below 20). An enormous disappointment was no in room coffee machine, but fortunately they had multiple starbucks I could get coffee for $4. As required we paid the resort fee which covered the access to pool with its two closed hot tubs, the wifi which worked after 30 minutes on hold with the front desk, access to the gym I never went to and basic cable with poor reception. The cafe was nice and reasonable.

A reasonably good experience.

Pros: Location, security.
Cons: Price was a little higher than it should have been, ESPECIALLY the RIDICULOUS $25 per night "resort fee". What a rip off THAT is.
I want to acknowledge Karolina at check-in, she was professional, and helped me get a good room and a fairly early check in. Overall it was fine, it's a good location, no excess noise. I didn't have a good view but I didn't mind, the room met my expectations. My biggest complaint was paying $5.50 for a small bottle of orange juice at the Starbucks. It was like $2 / swallow!

Recently renovated. Very enjoyable stay,

Pros: Location and price. Loved the outdoor breakfast by the waterfalls. Great food.
Cons: Add a poker room.
Location: Across the street from MGM and a 6 minute walk from Luxor/Mandalay.
Lots to do. Within walking distance to many casinos, shopping, entertainment with lower cost than others. Great stay. Will be back.

Everything on the Strip is in walking distance

The Hotel is okay. My husband and I stayed 3 nights. I booked a non smoking room on February 10th and when we got there on March 13th, they gave us smoking Room 1870 (Club Tower). I didn't sleep well, because my skin was itching from the Nicotine buildup in the Room. The last 2 nights we stayed in Room 592 (Club Tower).

We cannot expect a 4-star hotel is like this. You should wait a long time to check in, room is very small for two queen bed, the facilities in room are also very limited, we are at 4th floor, you cannot even open the window to see the garden.

Customer Service Horrible

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Arrived at the hotel at 8:00pm and after standing in a long line with only two people working at the desk - they told us our room wasn't ready and to come back in two hours!!!!! Then when we came back and had to check in again we waited another 1/2 hr for the slowest hotel desk ever! Staffed by only 2 people again!
