Hotel with youth flare

Posted Mar 11, 2015
It was a nice hotel with added features that made it unique. The blue lights in the room and the city view on floor 18 was an added plus. I stayed with my boyfriend for the weekend. Hotel staff was nice when we checked in and helpful. It was a nice location, but the valet parking is expensive and the day we checked out we called down to see if we could grab one of the free bathroom supplies that we forgot. And my boyfriend said the guy on the phone paused and was like ok. No one came up with the item. So I guess staff will be nice and helpful up until your checkout day.

Hello, I am pleased you enjoyed the unique features of your guest room, your arrival experience and our central location. I'm sorry about the snafu with getting the item up to your room; certainly an unfortunate oversight on our part. We look forward to welcoming you back, Thomas

Decent location... Tired: The year 2000 called

Posted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: Bathroom seemed very clean
Funky atmosphere in and out of rooms is quite dated now, was relevant and edgey in early 2000's. Rooms furniture and ability to accommodate mobile workers leaves much to be desired (desk, bandwidth, electrical outlets, even TV were all disappointing). Room was very small and worn (especially carpet)

Kept awake by night club

Posted Mar 9, 2015
Cons: Remove or soundproof the night club.
This is a nice hotel - it was clean and well taken care of. The staff were friendly and competent. However, someone decided that there should be a night club on the second floor. That same someone decided that it shouldn't be adequately sound-proofed. The music played until 2AM every morning. When called, the front desk staff said that the music would not be turned down under any circumstance. The hotel was fully booked and we were unable to change rooms. Extremely disappointed by this promising hotel. Steer clear if you want a good night's sleep.

Quirky, original hotel

Posted Mar 9, 2015
Friendly, welcoming staff. I couldn't attend the wine reception (but wish I could have). Rooms are comfortable with some nice touches (a cocktail shaker!). Good quality for the price and very central in Downtown Boston, just next to the Common.

Fewer amenities than most upscale hotels

Posted Feb 21, 2015
Pros: Great location, and the room itself was nice, if a bit small. Lots of electrical outlets, which is good for the modern traveler.
Cons: Either provide a hotel guide in the room, or orient the guest to the hotel amenities at check in like most normal hotels do. IN ROOM COFFEE MAKER
Location: Downtown, historic Boston. Lots of restaurants--both fast food and upscale--very close. Close to Freedom Trail and T.
The good: the sheets were of premium quality and the bed was comfortable. The room was sparkling clean. The lounge had a nice atmosphere and the drink I had was strong and well-crafted. The concerns: NO IN-ROOM COFFEE. Are you kidding me??? What hotel in this day and age has no in-room coffee maker??? I eventually learned that there was coffee available in the lobby, but this was not explained when I checked in. There was also apparently a wine reception in the lobby but this was not explained when I checked in. Basically there was no orientation to the hotel from the check-in staff and there was no guide to hotel services in the room. I have never been in an upscale hotel without a guide to hotel services with phone numbers in the room. Although "Free Wi-Fi" was touted, the Wi-Fi is only free if you sign up for some "membership" with the Kimpton Hotel chain. Finally, all personnel need better training in safety precautions--the check in staff loudly told me what floor my room was on, and the bartender asked me to shout out my full room number over a crowded bar in order to put my order on my tab. Anyone could have then followed me to my room.

Consistently nice hotel

Posted Feb 1, 2015
Pros: Service, cleanliness, decor, location.
Location: Fanueil Hall/Qunicy Market, Downtown Crossing, Aquarium, Boston Common/Boston Public Garden...all very close. Newbury/Boyston within walking distance
I've stayed at Nine Zero several times. Always am greeted by a nice staff including valet. Rooms are always very clean and comfortable with some good reading material. Great location too. Prices are normally reasonable. I happened to need to go to Boston the week of Columbus Day weekend last fall and ALL hotel rooms in Boston seemed to cost twice what they normally do including Nine Zero but that must have been due to the demand.

Great Hotel

Posted Jan 13, 2015
Pros: The atmosphere was sophisticated. The hotel offers complimentary wine from 5-6 and coffee/tea in the morning.
Location: You are a short walk to the state building and the commons which has ice skating in the winter. You are also not far from theater district.
I loved the hotel, the room was a good size and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was very nice and the water pressure was impressive. The only thing I did not like was the feather pillows, too soft for my liking but the front desk was able to accommodate with foam pillows. I loved the complimentary items including wine hour and tea in the morning as well as the robes and yoga mat in the rooms.
