Historic location along river & within state park

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: Close proximity to hot springs and town
Cons: Sound proof the rooms so you don't hear adjoining doors unlocking, opening and closing.
Location: Hotel is located within the confines of the hot springs state park, which is lovely. Short walk to hot spring terraces, bath houses, river walk.
If you want to visit the worlds largest hot springs in Thermopoplis then look no further than the historic Best Western Plus Plaza Hotel. Not only are you staying in the state park, you are a short stroll to the hot springs and river front walkway. Pllus the hotel offers onsite mineral spring hot tub and soaking pool. Now,you will haveli endure the sulphur smell which naturally emanate from the mineral springs. And the hotel, being historic, hasn't the sound barriers of newer constructed hotels. But if you like historic places like we do, then this place is a great choice.

Great room

There is nothing like a corner room! It was spacious with great views of the park and away from the noisey pool courtyard. The breakfast was good with lots of choices.

Real hot spring hot tub (PLUS!)

Posted Sep 1, 2013
Pros: friendly staff, beautiful views, and spacious rooms
Cons: Like i said, i could hear the downstairs neighbor brushing their teeth...so thicker walls!
Location: hot springs and water park right next to the hotel!
Very nice hotel and friendly staff. I liked that the hotel was right on the hot springs property and within walking distance to everything. However, the thin walls made it very difficult to sleep. I could hear the downstairs neighbor brushing their teeth. I did enjoy the heated pool and the hot tub was actually fed by a real hot spring. PLUS! The room was very beautiful with a separate TV room (very cute). I just didn't think close to 200 dollars was appropriate for the price

Great family hotel

Posted Aug 17, 2013
Pros: Good location in Hot Springs State Park
Cons: Only negative is walls and floors are thin so you do hear when people above/below/next door use their bathroom.
Location: Great location within the Hot Springs State Park. Thermopolis is a small town with limited dining options, so two nights was enough for us.
Loved this hotel. Located within the Hot Springs State Park, it has a spa tub tapped from the hot spring as well as a freshwater pool. After a trip to the fantastic Dinosaur museum, we opted to spend the afternoon here rather than going to one of the pool complexes in Thermopolis and had the place to ourselves. Rooms are good size and comfortable and there is a good breakfast buffet included. There is no on-site restaurant but the Safari Lodge over the road is good. Only negative is walls and floors are thin so you do hear when people above/below/next door use their bathroom.

Excellent Hotel in Thermopolis, WY

Posted Aug 11, 2013
Pros: Comfy modern rooms with attractive wooden bed and furniture. Arranged around a beautiful courtyard with the pools. Quiet and beautiful setting.
Cons: Not much, could use some improvements to the room door closers to minimize noise from closing. A lift to carry luggage to the second floor would help
Location: Beautiful setting in Hot Springs State Park, large hot spring pools with fun slides for kids. Big Horn river runs beside hotel, excellent fishing.
Stayed in this hotel for two nights, enjoyed the stay very much. Very quiet, clean and modern rooms in a renovated hotel built almost 100 years ago. There is a hot mineral soaking pool (~103 deg F) and warm swimming pool (~95 deg F) in the hotel courtyard, nice for morning and evening swims. Very nice buffet breakfast serving scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit, etc. Nice dining area and sitting area. Facility and grounds are very well maintained, staff is courteous and helpful. The room was quite spacious with a large comfortable king size bed, table and two chairs, desk, and sitting area.
