Just okayPosted Feb 26, 2014
Pros: Location and pillows
Cons: The facility is old and needs many repairs
When we first got to the room I discovered the used towels from the prior guests were still in the room. I notified the front dest. They offered us a new room but it looked like everything else was clean so he just removed the dirty towels. I later had to return to the front desk because the hair dryer was missing from our room. We used the pool/spa area it had a musty smell and the pool was a little too cool and the hot tub was way too hot. Our friends in another room were missing their smoke detector. Another thing that was irritating is Expedia charged us a higher rate than the advertised price on the sign in front of the hotel.

Hot PoolsPosted Nov 24, 2013
Pros: Large room, frig, microwave, friendly staff
Location: Hot Pools were grand.
The Thermopolis Super 8 was a pleasant surprise. The room was very spacious. The trip to the Hot Pools was very fun.

Not worthy of a Best Western namePosted Oct 7, 2013
Pros: leaving it
Cons: Staff was old and unmotivated to do simple cleaning, manager was arrogant and stuffy
Checked into Thermopolis Best Western- wasn't Best at all. The 1st room was dusty and had a light out, so went to ask about another light and cleaned room. Manager was "huffy" and got me another room. I also mentioned to her that the breakfast/sitting room had weeks/months of dust above the fireplace on the ledge- hard to breathe if I had allergies- I don't! 2nd room was a little better than 1st. Snowed the 2nd night and the power went out- no light, no heat, no TV. NO GENERATORS!!!!!!!!! Had to wait til 9AM to get up, limited b-fast and NO hot water until about 11AM when lights were back on. ARGGHHH! At 11AM sharp, person came to door to ask if I was going to check out- roads were closed on most highways leading out of town, but left hotel anyway. If I had to stay, I'd get another hotel anyway. . . Over-priced for the accomidations, would not stay there again- no matter what! Jim

HotelPosted Sep 21, 2013
Pros: The room was basically clean and tidy.
Cons: Lobby reeked of smoke and was shabby. Breakfast was very sad.
It was ok. Basically a good place to sleep. Go to the Mexican restaurant in town.

OK, but not well maintainedPosted Aug 27, 2013
Location: The furthest hotel in Thermopolis from the Hot Springs.
The side door of most 2 or 2 1/2 star properties usually requires you room key to open. Not so here. The south end of the building is wide open day and night. This is indicative of needed maintenance for this hotel.

Fishing Trip for CatfishPosted Jul 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
For having a two story hotel, with no elevator and no equipment to wheel luggage from the front door to a room was disheartening and a lot of work for us. The hot tub wasn't available, and that was one of the reasons we choose this hotel. The breakfast area was very small and cramped for setting to eat our meal. Area where food was, was approximately on a 5 foot long counter. With everything jammed together, hard to food items, and long wait to get food cause if there were 2 people getting everything else was blocked by them. Our room was nice, but we were told the beds were Queens, in actuality they are only doubles. My husband and I hard a hard time sleeping in the bed and the covers didn't cover both of us when we were in bed together. Water pressure low. The shower head was so low that my husband who is 6'1" had to bend over to wash his hair. I realize that smoking has become a no no in our society, but my husband and I are both smokers. We also realize and accept that to smoke we have to be outside, most places we've stayed at have a nice place for smokers to smoke in. This hotel, you smoke right in front of the doors that go into the motel. I felt bad for the non smokers that went by us while we were smoker. Two metal benches to set on, which were hard on the bottom. These benches only seated 2 people at a time. One bench was always in the sun. Just was disappointed in the whole situation for the amount of money spent for the room.
