“A Little Gem”

This place is a little gem. Recently built with really large, well furnished bedrooms and a big shower room. AC and a deep mattress made for comfortable sleeping.The pool on the roof wasn't finished but would be within a week of our leaving. Fabulous views from pool over the coast. The staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for you. Genuinely nice people, and the chef was another treat. The food he delivered, particularly the local dishes, was some of the best we have had and this is our fifth trip to India! Only downside is it's a little out from the hustle and bustle of Kovalam but if you like a more low key area with plenty of local life Sun Tara will fit the bill as rickshaws and taxis are readily available and cheap to take you elsewhere if you feel the need. Five minutes walk takes you to Poovra Beach, a long golden stretch of sand where there are sunbeds and hawkers if you need fruit and drinks. Not as commercial as other beaches so a nice change from the usual mayhem. We really enjoyed our week here and would recommend it. Backwater trips available at Poovra as well for a change of pace and scenery. All in all this hotel is a great little find.
