“Amazing”

Visited Thornbury the beginning of January, it was great. Would love to go back in summer when the gardens are in full bloom.

“charming and lovely”

besides the fact that it was VERY cold in the room specially during night (despite the fact that we got an extra hitting...) and that the matteress was TOO soft, the hotel was lovely. well located, wonderful and helpful staff. we came with our 9 months old daughter and found the staff supportive and well equipped. Breakast was great - rich and tasty. The castle itself was very intersting. at the last day we recieved a tour and saw all of the rooms (well - those who were available) ...amazing! We felt very welcomed and recieved a warm hospitality.

“never to be forgotten!”

my husband and i booked this hotel for our 1st wedding anniversary, it was the best decision we made! apart from choosing each other to marry! the hotel service was second to none from start to finish! the room took my breath away (we stayed in the beaufort) the serive at dinner was fantastic not in yer face but noticing when our wine needed topping etc! the food was fantastic anf the nice touch in writing happy anniversary on our dessert in chocolate was a nice touch! cheese and biscuits bought to our room finished the evening off sitting in front of the fire sipping the complimatary sherry! a fantastic experience will definatly rerurn!

“Great historic place to stay”

Expensive , but well worth the money. The history and charm of an old castle with modern conveniences tucked in. Truly fantastic.

“Forgotten how good Thornbury is!”

Revisiting Thornbury Castle after a gap of 9 years, we had forgotten how good it is. The current team provide first class, friendly service, where nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation is as dramatic as ever, with arrow slits as windows in our room. Will not be leaving it so long before we return.
