Lovely hotel, but....Posted Jul 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel itself is lovely, and the staff very polite and efficient. However, on the two nights I stayed, there was very loud music coming from nearby buildings, which went on until the early hours. Also, the mattress was very comfortable, but the bed frame creaked every time I moved, so although I liked the hotel, I had two very poor nights sleep. I was probably just unlucky, and would still recommend it as a place to stay in Eisenach.

Breakfast not includedPosted Jul 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is close to the Eisenach train station and a fair hike from Wartburg Castle--but any place in the town center would be. When we checked in we asked whether breakfast was complimentary and were told, 'yes.' The morning of our departure we stopped in the breakfast room for a cup of coffee and cereal, and as we were leaving the hostess told us that breakfast was 15 euros each. Surprised, but in a hurry to catch our train, we paid 30 euros for two cups of coffee, a bowl of cereal and a croissant. Bad form by the hotel.

Not quite what we expectedPosted Jan 5, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel is in a great location and has a lovely lobby. The rooms are basic, but the beds are comfortable (apart from the pillows - they were very floppy) and the bathroom was lovely. The rooms were very clean, and were cleaned daily. A few negatives: 1) Nowhere on the hotel website, nor on hotels.com does it say that there is a fitness centre at this hotel. This would be a good thing to highlight. My husband is very keen on keeping fit, but didn't bring his gym kit as there was no mention of fitness facilities. 2) The car park is very tight, and we received a very stern letter from reception that we were parked too close to another car. The car on the otherside was right on the line and it was difficult for us to get further away from the car. Also, it wasn't made clear to us when we checked in that there is an extra charge for the car park. All the signs are in German, and neither of us spoke German. The lady at reception said that we should have asked!!!

Great location in EisenachPosted Oct 20, 2010
Very spacious room, more like the US hotels we are accustomed to. Very helpful and friendly staff w/ very good English. Very close to everything in the old town including many restaurants, Wartburg Castle, train station, Bach Haus, Luther Haus, etc.... only a few blocks. I would recommend this hotel and Eisenach to anyone.

Nice Hotel in EisenachPosted Oct 3, 2009 on Hotels.com
Mr. Zapf at the Reception was extremely helpful. Room and bath were very roomy and the only criticisms are relatively common to almost all Hotels in Germany: Thin and small bath towels and limited parking spaces.
