“We will be back!”

I stayed with my 16 year old son in March of 2012. The staff went above and beyond to help us. Lelah gave us some ideas about visiting Jerusalem and even booked our tour. The room has a seperate bedroom which allowed us to enjoy some privacy and small kitchen with basic dishes. A short walk away is the beach, a shopping mall with a drug store and a grocery store and all kinds of dining choices.

“Good value hotel in Tiberias”

The hotel is simple and a good value compared to the area. It was easy to find because There are signs on the streets to mark the hotel. The pool is good size. Distance to the sea is a very long walk or a short drive. Breakfast buffet was minimal but better than nothing. Free wi-Fi was too slow unfortunately.

“Very reasonable”

Enjoyed our stay, very friendly staff, comfortable room. A bit of a walk from the downtown area but very reasonable price.

“Well-kept, friendly staff, and great breakfast”

This hotel is an older "budget" hotel, about a half mile from up a hill from the waterfront and promenade. It can be noisy at times, as I have come to expect in Israel in all but the most luxury hotels. Nevertheless, it is well kept, busy (seems to be popular with groups), the room was large, the staff was friendly and delightful, and the Israeli-style breakfast served in the dining hall was great (fish, yogurt, shakshuka, scrambled eggs, and lots more I can't remember). Absolutely nothing to complain about.

“Quite a Hike!”

The Astoria is a fine mid-range hotel in Tiberias, Israel. The food service was good, the room was clean (if not large), and the location is good. But, everything in Tiberias is up, unless one is walking along the lake. The 20 minute walk down was fine, but the walk back up was exhausting--and I am a strong walker. The best thing in the hotel is the Spa. Natalie is a lovely and very capable massage therapist--and I speak as a professional LMT.

“A reasonable choice”

The hotel was well-maintained and the staff attempted to be helpful. Unfortunately, they didn't seem to be able to help you with your travel plans if you had any questions. A big benefit was the fact that they had free use of a computer located in the lobby. The location was decent, but if you wanted to go to the city center you definitely needed to take either a taxi or a bus. The morning buffet breakfast was quite good, and the service was attentive. Considering the price of other hotels in Tiberias, the price was reasonable.

“Fantastic views”

Efficiently run hotel. Excellent breakfasts and wonderful views over Sea of Galilee and surrounding area. Only fault was very noisy air conditioning. About 15 minute downhill walk to beach but service taxi (mini bus) only charged a few shekels to take you back. Half hour boat trip on the lake was also very affordable.

“Good value. Great staff.”

The staff was fantastic and easily resolved a reservation problem. They also were very helpful with tourist information. The hotel is budget with older rooms but they were well maintained. There is a restaurant but it is buffet style with a changing menu so it may not appeal to all appetites.
