“Wonderful Hotel!”

The hotel is lovely, small, and right on the water. From our sitting room, it seemed we could reach out and touch Angel Island. The staff was extremely kind and thoughtful. Fresh coffee and stacks of S.F. Chronicles on each floor in the morning, complimentary breakfasts brought to one's room, tasty wine, cheese, crackers and fruit downstairs in the evening...and the views - from our room & private deck - from the large decks available for other guests...amazing! We couldn't have asked for a nicer celebration.

Area recommendations
Tiburon is a charming town; ferry leaves for San Francisco and Angel Island, Sausalito is just up the coast...; walking path to Blackie's Pasture and the Bay.

“Waters Edge was just what we needed after San Franciso then the wine country for 10 days!”

The staff was great from the minute we walked in the door..........very attentive! Great location, walked to dinner and the fireplace was a nice touch after a late dinner. We would go back again and will recommend Waters Edge.

“Would go back tomorrow”

We loved California. The people were very friendly. The climate was perfect, none of the humidity we have in Florida during the summer.

Area recommendations
Tiburon is a lovely city and close enough to Sausalito, Muir woods Napa Valley and of course San francisco.

“Thanks - we will certainly be back!”

The Waters Edge was exactly what we were looking for as we did not want to stay in a large, high-rise hotel in the city with noise and traffic. The service and accommodations were very personal and the facility very private. The view from the deck was fantastic and our room was delightful. The breakfast in bed was just what the doctor ordered and we only wish that we could have stayed longer. Thanks, we will be back!

“Will definitely go back. A real couples delight”

We had a great weekend get away, celebrating my husband's birthday. Staff is very warm and welcoming. Great wine and cheese reception and plenty of it. Morning breakfast is nice, as you can make your own tray and go back and get in the bed. The robes provided were very comfortable. Will definitely come back.

Shopping
Shops are nice. I would ask for a discount; you may get one.
Dining
Dinner next door at Sam's is nice

“would definately return”

We visited in the off season so was very quiet and quaint. Would definately return for a longer visit. Wish we would of had more time to visit the local shops and eat in the area.

When to go
Recommend traveling during the off season. During summer there are a lot of tourists. We didn't have a problem finding a place to park and the crowds on the sidewalks, etc.

“City with a view?”

This hotel has so much potential to be a top notch hotel to stay in when visiting such a beautiful city with breath taking views and fabulous restaurants, along with quaint coffee shops and cafes. The furniture is nice, the deluxe rooms with a view are gorgeous and the deck outside would be great to sit in fall or spring when the weather is nicer. If possible, I would bring it to owners attention that improvements do need to be made such as when your luggage goes to your room, the person should check to make sure the heater/air conditioner works, everything is functional, etc., televisions should be upgraded to a mounted wall wide screen since old ones don't all work well, number to front desk isn't indicated - luckily we all pressed 0 for the front desk; however, this may not be familiar with some travelers. The thought of having water in a container in the lobby is nice but I think people would prefer a nice chilled bottle of water. The front desk personnel should be reminded that personal phone calls should not be made in front of customers. Piped music in lobby/front desk would enhance the atmosphere.

Area recommendations
Tiberon and Sausalito. Both cities are quaint and have fine shopping, fine dining, and I love the coffee and cafe shops. Both cities are easily accessible to San Francisco in a little amount of time and there doesn't seem to be as much tourism as in San Francisco. Best of all, both cities are so romantic.
When to go
Best is in the fall or spring.
What to pack
Clothes that you can layer so you are covered for any type of weather is a must.
Dining
Check the internet for the most popular restaurants in both Tiberon and Sausalito and it will lead you to the ones that are mouth watering with spectacular views of San Francisco.

“Tiburon - Water's Edge Hotel - Not impressed!”

-Towels were way too thin - see through -It was raining and the first room we were given had a leak over our bed and in the middle of the night we were rained on -Lamp shades old and frayed and dotted with dead bugs -Desk chair in the room was broken, -Carpets old and spotted/dirty -No protein served (hard boiled eggs, cheese, etc.) and no jam even after several requests and nowhere to eat the breakfast other than your room -Not enough seating in lobby for cocktail hour - very boring items served -No bottled water made available Please take a close look at the operation and management of your sister hotel, Aqua, where we stayed last Christmas and had a week of bliss in every way.

“A fantastic stay”

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at the hotel. As mentioned above the hotel was excellent in all its physical attributes. The view of San Francisco across the Bay was superb, especially from the patio at the back of the hotel. The little shops in the area were nice and not too touristy. We did not try any of the restaurants in the area but they all looked nice. We would definitely go back if the opportunity presents itself.

Traveler's tip
Don't overlook this place just because it is a little outof the way.
