Comfortable stay, close to the City.

Posted Dec 17, 2014
Pros: The staff, the service, and the overall comfort of the place is not to be underestimated. It stands out to me.
Cons: I'm sure there's an area to improve, but nothing that stands out to me at this time. For what they set out to be- they excel.
Location: Snuggled in the heart of beautiful Tiburon, with views of the surrounding hills and, across the bay- San Francisco. Surrounded by shops/eateries.
I used to stay in San Francisco when going to the area. Now I stay at Waters Edge in Tiburon. The hotel is in the heart of the town of Tiburon, a beautiful vista across the bay from the city. The staff is OUTSTANDING- every one of them. Their attention is to service- they get the concept of 'hospitality' which so many hotels simply do not. I feel welcomed and comfortable there. And I have the sense that- whatever it may be that you need- they'd get it. The hotel is situated next to a slew of restaurants, shops, and beautiful walking areas. The town itself is very picturesque. I drive into the city each morning for business, and drive back out to get away from it at day's end. And, it's an easy drive. Love this spot. Would highly recommend it if the area works for you.

Great location, easy ferry access to downtown SF

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Location, Location, Location. Wine and cheese happy hour. The staff.
Cons: Maybe a warning about the cheaper rooms being either on the street or other less attractive attributes.
Location: Ferry to Angel Island is literally right at the hotel. Ferry to SF is maybe another 50' away. Restaurants, nice walks.
We really enjoyed Tiburon and The Water's Edge Hotel. It was a great way to visit San Francisco, based in the quiet town with easy ferry access to downtown SF. The hotel was great. The waterfront 2nd story deck was a treat that we used pretty much every day for happy hour, a place to eat our lunch, and just to relax before going out for dinner. All in all it was great. We did have a cleanliness issue our first day but the staff took care of it immediately. Our original room was on the first floor with no privacy and was very dark. We asked to be moved up to the 2nd floor and they were able to accommodate us. We got a bundled package with airfare and clearly had the worst pick of rooms at the Hotel, not really a fault of theirs, just a repercussion of a low cost bundle from Expedia. The 2nd floor room we did get was street view, which we actually kind of liked because it's a cool little walking town and it was fun to be in the middle of. The garbage truck doing its thing at 7:15 on consecutive mornings was a drag but again not the end of the world for us. The staff was great, we joined the free wine and cheese happy hour each night and totally enjoyed our 4 days in Tiburon, thanks to the Water's Edge.

A lovely find

Talk about the million dollar view. This hotel gem is situated on Tiburon Bay and looks out on San Francisco AND the Golden Gate Bridge. A simple hotel but nice extras. Wine and cheese at night to take out on the deck and enjoy the view. Breakfast in your room, with a paper, in the morning. Bikes to use to tour the town. Really lovely.

Pros: Friendly staff, great rooms, great views from the back deck.
Cons: ?
Location: Great spot to grab the ferry to Pier 39. Easy access from highway. Great shops to stroll around Tiburon.
Loved the complimentary wine and cheese. Great breakfast brought to your room when you want. Nice restaurants right around the corner. Just hop on the ferry beside you to visit Pier 39 and Downtown. Loved it can't wait to go back!

Lovely hotel

Posted Aug 7, 2014
This was my favorite hotel ever! My only issue was when we arrived they only had us booked for one night when we had prepaid for 3 through expedia. The staff told us they would try to take care of it but might need to move us to another hotel. This was very upsetting! They sorted it out but did nothing to compensate for our stress. I would love to stay in here again but I will be calling to double check our reservation several times before our arrival next time!

First visit

Pros: Best feature was the upstairs decking that looked out over the bay towards the city. Especially enjoyed the views both during the day and evening.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Visiting the Ark, a row of old shops selling unusual items. Local ferry to Angel Island and San Francisco
Superb comfortable hotel with helpful staff. A little disappointing there was no restaurant, but the breakfast served in the room was more than adequate and very tasty. It was good to be able to say what time you wanted breakfast. The room was great, comfortable bed ensured a very good night's sleep. The fire was an advantage as the evening and early morning were quite chilly. The staff were pleasant and cheerful.

Beautiful location

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Loved the big deck, overlooking the Bay; loved walking to restaurants and shopping; loved breakfast when we woke up
Cons: Prefer the old-style charm it already has, so nothing.
Location: Ferry terminal is right outside; all the boutiques are within walking distance; local restaurants are excellent; hiking, biking, sailing, boating
Our SF Bay view was amazing. This trip was a Mother's Day gift and it lived up to its billing wonderfully. Service was first rate. It's hard to find employees today who care about their guests, but the Water's Edge employees were old-school: caring, focusing on our comfort and willing to go out of their way to help us make the most of our stay.
