great location for visiting the city. Parking is a little tricky you need a good navigation system to park and come back espacialy if you are first timer in the city. shower is s little small but the overall is good.

Avoid if you canPosted May 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
Two options here -- an ugly, small hotel that hasn't been upgraded for a half century or a separate building with rooms like a college dormitory. There is no reason to stay here, unless it's for free. No need to be right on the square like this, Locarno is tiny so it's easy to get around from wherever one stays. Avoid.

The hotel was clean, however the staff were rather unfriendly. I found it to be overpriced for what was offered. The coffee included in the breakfast was not fresh. The beds were small and not so comfortable.

The place was great. My biggest complaint was the price. I believe hotels.com overcharged us we and we desrve a price match guarantee refund of a good portion of the charge.

A comfortable place to recharge.Posted Jun 20, 2012
Pros: Quiet, simple, clean, good breakfast.
Cons: Great to have very few cars going by, but not easy when you have a vehicle.
Location: Trational area, great for walking to and from. Great shopping and miles of restaurant in this area.
The Hotel was very clean and I enjoyed my stay very much. My room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was of a high standard in a very pleasent restaurant setting. The evening menu had a very wide choice and every evening meal that I had at the hotel was of good quality. You were able to have three choices of setting for the evening meal, a pub feel at the bar, a formal restaurant feel inside or outside in the open air of the square. The staff was friendly and they provided prompt service. I recommend this Hotel as covering all bases in a simple quality way when visiting this area.

Beautiful hotel in a great locationPosted Feb 29, 2012
Pros: It's charm and
Cons: Only some of the staff spoke English, understandable for a mainly Italian/German area, but made it a bit interesting!
Location: IN the Grand Piazza in the heart of Locarno, 12 min from train station
This hotel is an older building, probably was once some sort of villa or home and retains that charm. The rooms and bathrooms have been remodeled and are well-apportioned, clean and functional but the building itself is just beautiful. The room (a triple) was huge with a separate sleeping area for the single, it felt like a mini-suite! We had gorgeous views of the town, free breakfast in a very nice breakfast room and were located right in the Grand Piazza. It's about 12 minutes to the train station (but so is everything else) and is very very convenient for visiting Locarno's sights. Also, a fantastic value.

Wonderful breakfast buffet!Posted Feb 21, 2012
Pros: Really complete breakfast buffet including: eggs, hams, cheeses, variety of breads, cereals, yogurts, bread toppings, coffee, how chocolate, ETC...
Cons: You can hear what's going on outside your room. Sometimes noisy, but OK.
Location: WONDERFUL, in the center of the Central Plaza.
Would definitively stay here next time I am in Locarno. Superb location and breakfast buffet! RECOMMENDED!

Kepp This ONe As Your Last ResortPosted Jun 20, 2011 on Hotels.com
The hotel is located in the center of Locarno. The view from most rooms is non existent as the window opens into the building next door. I speak German and the most interesting experience for me was that the gentleman at the front desk's response when I asked if he spoke English considering we were in Italian speaking part of the country . He replied "Unlike in America here in Switzerland we speak many different languages" I did speak only in German with him the next day while checking out.
