Top class hotel in a great spot
The hotel is well positioned along the waterfront and within easy walking distance from the station (using the funicular to come down/up the hill). It has enormous charm and wonderful gardens. The room was terrific and breakfast was a great experience. Overall a wonderful stay in a top class hotel.

We stayed two nights and it was a fantastic place to stay! We loved having drinks on the front patio looking at the lake in the evening. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. The best thing was the wonderful breakfast including eggs, ham, cheeses, yogurt, cereal and fresh bread and croissants. It was all very delicious and filling! Next time we are in Lucerne we are definitely going to stay here! Thanks for a great experience!

First the good—the hotel’s location is fantastic! Easy access to transportation, shopping and restaurants. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet and had A/C. The bathroom was tiny and there is very little room for toiletries if more than one person is staying in the room. Only after we commented on the lack of coffee service did one show up (the next morning) and the hotel does not provide any additional amenities such as bottled water, shampoo/conditioner, etc. If you are simply looking for a place to sleep and not concerned with any of the rest, this is an okay place to stay.

A wonderful hotel. Great location, staff were very helpful and the pool and garden area was a bonus. Lovely breakfast and do get your Ticino ticket from reception that gives you free bus travel and discounts for some attractions (Mount Bre)

Breakfast had a good variety of foods and in very nice surroundings. Free coffee all day. Location is ideal. Staff helpful. Garden area and pool areas a bonus as well as public sitting areas. Overall enjoyable except for a slightly higher price.

Really nice stay. Comfortable beds, good breakfast. Friendly staff throughout the hotel. The only minor criticism related to the non-functioning air conditioning. We were told that it hasn't been switched on because it had been cooler earlier in the week, but this meant that the room was rather too warm overnight.

I give this 3 star property 5 stars. I was a little hesitant in booking this hotel at first because it is a 3 star hotel and I usually do 4 stars and above & honestly the pictures online did little to entice me. I booked this hotel purely for its convenient location by my son’s school b/c he recommended it. Was I pleasantly surprised. This is not a big it fancy hotel but it is definitely full of old world charm. The hotel is definitely older but so well kept. The staff were courteous, friendly and warm. I was enjoying my stay so much I returned again to the same hotel to see my son again. If you like modern style of course this hotel is not for you. But otherwise, the location and the breakfast and the free local transportation tickets are awesome! Very close to et he train station and bus stops too:) highly recommend.

Lovely historic hotel in the centre of Lugano, lots of character and history and the room overlooking the lake was fabulous. Definitely a nice place to stay.

The International Hotel du Lac is a well appointed hotel with friendly and helpful staff situated on the lake and walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The breakfast is wonderful.

Great location and beautiful property. Has a beautiful pool area. Staff was very friendly. Morning breakfast was abundant and delicious. Neighborhood was great to walk and also a great place to run if you are a runner. Hotel has a underground parking which is very convenient even though you have to pay 20Fr. They will allow you to leave the car even if you check out.

The hotel location is excellent - the Via Nassa is lovely and the access to the lakeside is super. The hotel staff are efficient and friendly. The breakfast is first class.

Very bad service. My car broke down and I could not come as I have been 400km away. I tried to cancel hotel 15min after cancellation policy. Hotels.com called many times the owners asking if it’s possible to cancel. They explained the reason. But owners or managers refuse to cancel. Very much money oriented hotel!!!! Shame...

On checking in, the receptionist told as that it was more convenient to unload the car in the garage rather than outside the hotel. This was definitely NOT the case. Unloading in the garage (particularly on the upper floor) was really awkward!

The position of the hotel was excellent. Staff was very pleasant. Garden was nice. We enjoyed to play in garden. The pool area and the pool were a bit too small for number of people staying in the hotel. It was not allowed to jump in the pool but people ignored this. If you wanted to swim, this was not possible. The room was big but our windows were close to the wall, so in the room was always dark.

Convenient property in Lugano
The property is clean and comfortable . The location is right at the end of the shopping and food streets while also just in front of the lake . It is an older property but well maintained .

Leisure time at Lugano.
The location for our purpose was ideal. The staff were courteous and helpful. The hotel was well-maintained and had aspects of old-world elegance; and was certainly comfortable. The breakfasts offered a diversity of good things in a dining room that was spacious and charming. Our room was, however, not large; but quite sufficient to provide a good night's sleep and a morning shower. We were pleased to have the added facility for the and coffee. We would happily return. Thanks too for the bus/rail ticket that allowed us to make the most of our 3-night stay.
