Nice and quiet place to stay and explore. The location is best to view the beautiful town and lake below. Lots of hiking trails besides the long winding road to and fro Ascona. WiFi is not readily available and tugging suitcase over the cobblestone is a challenge. Breakfast is great.

Das Hotel ist etwas besonderes, historisch und in einem tollen Park. Die Aussicht ist super, es gibt kostenlose Parkplätze und schöne Wanderwege in der direkten Umgebung. Preis/Leistung gut. Vorweg: Ich werde bestimmt nochmal wiederkommen. Bei meinem Besuch war ich aufgrund der Bestimmungen vom Bundesrat gezwungen, im Hotelrestaurant zu speisen. Das Restaurant war leider enttäuschend. Die Speisen waren leider nicht gut, der Service war träge und unzureichend.

Nice hotel with gorgeous view on Lago Maggiore
very nice hotel, a car is highly recommended as the hotel is up a steep hill, gorgeous view on Lago Maggiore, breakfast is served on a beautiful terrace, nice breakfast buffet, the lake area (Switzerland and Italy) can be easily explored when staying at the hotel, Locarno is within walking distance, some might prefer a taxi for returning to the hotel

Great Lake Maggiore visit
Fantastic room with views and elevation - quite warm in July 15-17 2015 to 35C without aircon and mosquitoes makes nights very warm- kept windows open and mosquitoes etc - less sleep. Great breakfast on top terrace. Admin staff and all just lovely. Will return.

This is the first time I have used hotels.com and the write-up was not representative of the hotel. This is a three star hotel and the rooms I was first given were like a youth hostel room, one did not even have a window to look out of. I was moved to a better room after complaining and showing the staff the photographs on the hotels.com website. I still did not get a room as per the pictures.

Unfortunately, this special place appears to be losing its soul. Compared with our last stay, the breakfast was very basic and the service only half-hearted. Worst of all, upon check-out the receptionist deliberately and pejoratively called me "Natasha", which felt as treating me with contempt as a guest. This was very embarassing and unprofessional, and discourages me from visiting this hotel ever again.

Very nice location. You feel like in a little resort. The rooms looks like an hospital room. Only white with convenience bed. But everything was clean. We have an amazing view on the lake from the balcony.

Hotel in schöner Anlage an bester Lage
grosses Zimmer mit ebenso grossem Balkon. gutes Frühstück auf attraktiver Terrasse mit Seesicht. Schöne Parkanlagen. Ich kann alles empfehlen. Einziger Schwachpunkt ist der fehlende ÖV-Anschluss nachts, wenn jemand mit Gepäck anreist ist. Sonst ist man zu Fuss von Ascona in 20 Minuten oben

Wenn das Wetter mitgespielt hätte wäre es super. Empfang an der Rezeption war freundlich, bei der Abreise eher mässig. Das Hotel hat eine sehr schöne Parkanlage, die zu Spaziergänge einladet. Das Zimmer war geräumig mit schönem Blick auf den See. Allerdings für heutigen Standard veraltet. Die Fenster sind einfach verglast und der Schliessmechanismus gleicht dem eines Kleiderschranks. Der Heizkörper besitzt ein einfaches Ventil und für die warme Saison fehlt eine Klimaanlage. Wer einen Fernseher benötigt muss den TV-Raum im 1. Stock aufsuchen. Das Frühstück war fein und reichhaltig. Der Preis fürs Restaurant ist eher im höheren Preissegment. ÖV ist, zumindest in der Zeit Anfang Mai, schlecht. Hier empfiehlt sich die Anreise mit dem Auto.

Great hotel, neat and friendly personnel. The garden is great to wander around and offers some great views of the lake. Getting to the hotel by bus is a bit hard. You'll have to walk up the hill. Also the rooms are not really soundproof, but since all people seemed to sleep in early this wasn't a big issue for me.

Ein wunderbarer Ort, optimiert noch angenehmer
Vom Gefühl und der Architektur her sehr schöner (Kraft)-Ort. Die einfachen Zimmer sind sehr entschleunigend und angenehm zen. Das Abendessen auf der Terrasse war sehr gut. Die Aussicht traumhaft. Die Hintergrundmusik eher unpassend und störend. Ein rein instrumentaler leiser Jazz wäre sehr viel angenehmer - als alter Pop. Passt nicht zum Ort. Kleinkinder, die auf den schönen Lido-Stoff-Gartenstühlen herumturnen dürfen und auch beim Abendessen hemmungslos Husten und Schreien passen für unseren Geschmack auch nicht an diesen Ort der Ruhe. Die Idylle wird gestört. Vielleicht wären Jugendliche ab 10/12 angebrachter, als Kleinkinder. Das Frühstücksbuffet war nach dem feinen Abendessen etwas ernüchternd, simpel und verloren in dem grossen Speisesaal aufgestellt. Eher wie in einer Kantine. Ich werde wiederkommen in der Hoffnung, dass sich wenigstens einer meiner Negativpunkte zum Positiven geändert hat.

Schönes Hotel an traumhafter Lage mit Sicht auf den Lago Maggiore! 5 Autominuten oberhalb von Ascona. Mit Bauhaus Möbel, einfach aber geschmackvoll eingerichtet! Sehr schöne Terrasse mit Blick auf den Park und See! Das relativ kleines Badezimmer hätte eine Renovierung nötig! In der zum Hotel gehörender Villa sin die Badezimmer bereits renoviert! Internet funktioniert sehr gut , jedoch ohne TV! Gutes Frühstück, dass auf der grossen Terrasse eingenommen werden kann!
