The Hotel/Resort is in a perfect idyllic situation with fantastic sights overlooking the city of Guadalajara. Perfect for overnight stay, close to the airport and offering clean, comfortable and quiet, old fashioned type of luxury.
The Hotel staff are courteous, efficient, helpful and friendly and the 'taxi' service is second to none.
I can only recommend it highly in every respect except I did not make use of the restaurant facilities on this occasion

The hotel is about four miles to the airport and close to major streets. It's on the main avenue to Chapala, 50 minutes from there; 15 minutes to the bus station; 15 minutes to Vicente Fernandez Ranch; 18minutes to Tlaquepaque main plaza and 25 minutes to downtown Guadalajara. There is a park right behind the hotel. It's gated and it has security 24/7, very polite people.

From the minute we walked into the lobby until the time we left, we were treated very special. The welcoming front desk staff spoke very good English. Even though we arrived a bit early for check in, they made a point of making us feel welcome. They made suggestions for where to eat and what things not to miss.
When we returned after our walking tour and shopping adventure, the little pool was a real oasis and the staff brought us cold drinks and wonderful, big thirsty towels.
The included breakfast was delicious and served by a charming young man who again spoke very good English and patiently helped us with our Spanish.

Rosa morada is located just a half a block from the Cardinal's residence, lots of security presence because of this, which makes it a very safe location. Legend has it that rooms 5/6 had an underground tunnel that connected the b&b to the cardinals place. Staff here is friendly and helpful. Breakfest is included and is yummy, btw must say great retro music being played during breakfest- and it wasn't loud and overbearing, just right. To get to your room you walk down a long narrow garden filled with plants. my room was nice and had extra blankets. If was very quiet here, only heard faint church bells and birds chirping, which made it very relaxing!

Festive mariachi melodies parade through the busy streets and shops of Tlaquepaque in the first weeks of September, during the International Mariachi Fair. Not only music but also handicrafts accompany the many fiestas and fairs taking place in this artists' haven. Connoisseurs of hand-blown glass and hand-crafted ceramics turn out every year for the National Handicraft Trade Fair.
