Peaceful escape

Posted Jul 24, 2014
Pros: Location, sound of the ocean, comfort of the room.
Cons: Internet is slow on the island, which is to be expected. But the wifi range of the routers could be improved! Had to step outside to get a signal.
Location: The beach is literally right at your doorstep. They also helped us rent bikes for a day, which was a blast.
Stayed in a one bedroom unit, which was quite nice, with all the conveniences of a full kitchen, etc. A few steps to the beach, you can hear the ocean from your room. The units are new, and kept in great condition. Next time I'd rent a two bedroom unit, which are upstairs with balconies (we did have a private patio). Recommend.

Great respite

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: Close to ocean and surfing for stepson.
Location: Fish Tacos
After staying in a lot of budget hotels at less than $100 per night it wasn't hard to see the value of $300 per night. Whether it's worth 3X the price you'll have to be the judge. As they say I real estate, location, location, location and this hotel definitely has that.

Wonderful location

Posted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is right on a wonderful beach and there's a very good, but pricey restaurant right next door.
Cons: The faucets on the bathroom sinks need replacing as above.
Location: You can surf right out the back gate of the hotel; they have board storage right on site near the beach. Whale watching, kayaking and golfing nearby.
The room was spacious, nicely laid out and very clean. We loved the location - right on a great sandy surfing beach. A couple of small things - the place doesn't have a restaurant - but there's a really great one at the hotel next door. One small thing - the bathroom faucets need replacing, the nozzles are way too short so it is difficult to fet your hands under it to wash your hands or face. We reported this design defect and the staff said they were aware of it and plans were in pace to rectify the matter.

Very comfortable!

Posted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: I loved having the kitchen with all the necessary tools and appliances. Everything was very clean and cozy.
Cons: 1. Better lighting in the bathroom--hard to shave or put on makeup. 2. Put a black out screen on door-- to sleep with the bedroom door open.
Location: Walk on the beach, go for dinner at the Long Beach resort restaurant--great food! Walk the many trails in Tofino and Ucluelet. It is a fabulous spot!
This visit was the first time we have stayed at the Cox Bay Beach Resort and we loved it! It was so nicely furnished and had all the comforts of home. The king-sized bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever had! It was a short one minute walk to the beach and only minutes from Tofino. Will definitely stay there again and have no hesitation in recommending this spot to friends and relatives.

West Coast Comfort

Posted Feb 25, 2014
I've stayed in most of the higher end hotels in Tofino, and Cox Bay is by far my favourite. It is modern, clean, comfortable and has a lovely West Coast appeal. I would recommend it for couples, families, and groups.

Cox Bay Resort

Posted Feb 12, 2014
Pros: Pet friendly.
Cons: The couch was not comfortable which was too bad because we came to relax which we did obviously as we extended our stay one more night.
Location: Schooner Cove trail, MacKenzie Beach, Long Beach, Cox Bay, Ucluelet lighthouse, Chesterman's Beach all great places to walk
Awesome room - couch wasn't comfortable, bed was heaven, heated floors in bathroom fabulous. Great spot for dogs of all sizes plus Boomer had treats, food and water dish and dog towels upon arrival.

Great location/beach

Posted Feb 4, 2014
Pros: We have stayed in both the one bedroom and two bedroom units and they are very well set up with kitchens, fireplace and decks
Cons: Some of the dishes were dirty as the dishwashers aren,t the best and so some dishes had been put away dirty I think right out of the dish washer
Location: Location is great as the beach is all sand and the surfing very good, next door at the long beach lodge there is a great restaurant
The resort is very well layed out as are the rooms, this is the second time we have stayed here and will go back as it is good value for the high quality rooms
