Middle Beach Lodge

Posted Aug 11, 2014
My fiancé and I stayed here in August of 2014 for our wedding. We had a private ceremony separate from the resort, but we throughly enjoyed our stay during our special event. It was beautiful. Access to the middle beach was convenient and surprisingly not crowded because as it turns out most that visit the beach are those staying at the lodge. The breakfast in the morning is excellent and at night they freshly bake cookies. It was serene and relaxing. The room we stayed in was a bit small but well worth the proximity to the ocean and the amenities provided by the hotel.

At the Beach with beautiful views

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: Near town, at the beach.
Cons: Expedia should allow the hotel to expand the description and room sizes (square footage) on the properties, so guests will know how big the room is.
Location: Near Beach and town.
When we booked a room at the Middle Beach Lodge, we did not realize that the room was so small, that our luggage could not fit in it, there was no TV in the room either. We were really disappointed, however, we were able to upgrade to a suite for one night and into a cabin another night. Parking was free, wi-fi was a bit spotty in areas, free continental breakfast was included with the stay. We didn't have the opportunity to use the beach, but the sunset views were amazing!

Headlands lodge was excellent; Expedia was very po

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: The lodging were tasteful and all in old wood. The food was superb, both the dinner and the free breakfast.
Cons: There is enormous variation in the quality of the rooms. People should be warned before booking into the worst rooms.
Location: Great walks, kayaking, boat trips in Tofino and Ucluelot
We switched out of the horrid accomodation booked by Expedia (at a rate substantially above the price we could have gotten if we had booked directly with the lodge, for a room that was more like a sardine can) into a terrific cabin near the mean "Headlands" building. Accomodations and salmon and halibut dinners were superb. We were, however, furious at Expedia for almost ruining our stay. Not only did they overcharge us, but they put us in the worst room in the Lodge with no warning. I will never book via Expedia again.

Beach side lodge with amazing views

Posted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: Location and relaxed comfortable atmosphere
Cons: Road leading to hotel has a number of pot holes
Location: Beach walks from the door. Surfing at nearby beach, bear and whale watching trips. Good choice of food outlets nearby.
Stayed two nights in well equipped lodge. Main lounge and decking area very comfortable with views out over beach and ocean. Freshly baked cookies and hot drinks in the evening (free).

WARM AND COZY

Be sure to get room with balcony. The location, views and ambiance of the lodge is what it is all about, rooms are fairly basic but nice linens. Fabulous breakfasts. Overall a perfect getaway for someone not needing 5 star.

Cosy and friendly hotel

Posted Jun 11, 2014
Pros: Felt like I was staying in a guest room at someone's house not a chain hotel! Breakfast, coffee and snacks were great.
Cons: Wifi connection not strong in some of the rooms, but works in the lounge and dining area.
Location: Hiking, kayaking, beach biking, great dining - amazing scenery!
Great hotel for couples or singles. Lovely location and view. Very Peaceful. Rooms are very small but cosy, comfortable and clean. No TV or phones which is great! Delicious continental breakfast and coffee, fruit and pastries all day long. Comfy lounge with lovely view.
