Close to station, with basic needsPosted Nov 7, 2013
Pros: They have umbrella's that you can use for free, and the staff were really helpful in terms of booking reservations and helping you find places to go.
Cons: Rooms need modernising.
Location: In terms of food we we're really happy with the location as it was only a few minutes walk away from Tokyo's Korean Town. We love korean food so that
The hotel staff are pleasant and helpful, they will call up and make reservations for restaurants for you if you ask them to. the hotel location is a few minutes walk from Shin-Okubo station which is only one stop away from the main station - Shinjuku. We found that on late nights out you could easily walk back from Shinjuku within 15-20 minutes. The hotel itself is small, with rooms that have the bare minimal - Bed, TV, Bathroom, fridge. But we heard from our friends who were staying at other hotels that their rooms were also quite small. The rooms were cleaned everyday, new towels and toiletry given. If you leave things on the bed then they won't touch it we found, so if you want your sheets changed don't leave anything on the bed.

Ok hotel for the pricePosted Oct 21, 2013
My room was on the ground floor. It had some humid smell and the air ventilator was noisy. The WiFi reception was bad too in my room. If you were to just stay and sleep for the night, it should be fine.

Room stunk and was filthy. A LOT of bathroom mold.Posted Jul 26, 2013
Pros: Good location.
Cons: Clean it. Get rid of extreme smell. Fix broken light fixture.
Location: Lots to do nearby. Great location.
The location is good. Hotel is run down. Price was good. I am not picky, but this place was nasty. Mold all over shower curtain and on bathroom ceiling. Not just a little bit of mold, either. Room stunk terribly like strong food smell. Took some getting used to. Light fixture was yellow and broken. We only stayed one night, which was fine with us.

Poor, small and not pleasantPosted Jun 4, 2013
I know space is at a premium in Tokyo but the rooms here were awfully small, for a double room two people couldn't pass each other, as for free Wifi, you'd get a better service using a dongle as the WIFI worked intermittently, the staff were OK, but I wouldn't stay there again, also the shower curtain looked liked it had been their since the 70's and was disgustingly dirty, all in all I wouldn't recommend staying at this hotel

Hotel Empire ReviewPosted May 28, 2013
Pros: Great little bar/cafe in the hotel!
Location: 15 minute walk to Shinjuku station, or 1 minute walk from Okubo station
I arrived at this hotel late in a taxi, and I was worried I was in a bad area because it is in an alley, but it turned out to be fine and I felt safe walking at night alone (and I'm also a girl). The front staff was nice and the room was small but nice. One night someone was yelling (I assumed they were drunk) which I heard very clearly from my room, but this is not the hotels fault. All the other nights I stayed it was fine, it was in a good location only about a 15 minute walk to the Shinjuku station, or 1 minute (about only a block away) from Okubo station. There is also a great cafe and bar downstairs with very friendly staff and great food and atmosphere.
