good place, good positionPosted Sep 24, 2014
Pros: Comfortable beds, good service, nice to see original features. good position close to the Ginza and Kabuki theatre.
Cons: at least one English speaking channel on the TV, please.
Location: Close to the Ginza shops and Kabuki theatre. Lots of restaurants and bars around. Senso-ji not so far on Higashi-Ginza line.
An older looking hotel with a small simple reception, original tiles and features and has good bedrooms. It is very close to the Ginza and Higashi Ginza subway stations. Asakusa for Senso-ji is only a few stops on the Higashi Ginza line. The staff were very helpful and there always seemed to be an English speaker available. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space for suitcases. There was even a small wardrobe. We asked for extra pillows and they arrived very quickly. There were loads of places very close for coffee and breakfast first thing. On our last evening we found a restaurant opposite the hotel called Tofuro advertising 'Edo' food. The menu looked good, but when we took the lift down to B2, the place was just amazing! It was like walking out into an old Edo street, with reconstructed buildings housing the tables on different levels (a bit like the Shambles in York museum). We were really pleased with our food, and loved the fact that the Japanese kids there were just as amazed as us! The hotel is a 10 min taxi ride to the T-Cat for the Limousine bus to Narita.

Great location in GinzaPosted Sep 17, 2014
Pros: Location is excellent.
Cons: The floor of our room was wooden which I hadn't seen in any of the other 5 hotels we stayed at in Japan; that did make the room seem cold.
Location: Tons of restaurants and shops nearby - Printemps Ginza.
Our room was pretty basic but clean and had everything we needed for our one night there. The bed was a small double but comfortable.

Clean, excellent location, dated.Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Location, air conditioner, cleanliness.
Location: Ginza shopping and dining and easy access to public transportation
The room was clean, the beds comfortable and the air conditioner worked well. The hotel is old and dated by U.S. standards but very well located. There are several convenience stores just a few steps from the hotel.

Great locationPosted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: Proximity to shops, station and restaurents
Cons: Room decor
Location: Ginza shopping. Many restaurents nearby including some fine Indian restaurents
Great location with metro station, shoping and restaurents all withing walking distance. Rooms are okay - a bit tight on space but I suppose that goes with any 3-4 star hotels in big cities. Staff are friendly; don't expect to be impressed by reception area!

Location, location.Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Its location, cleanliness and ease of access.
Cons: A very strict adherence to the 3pm check-in time was a problem, especially as we arrived on an early flight.
Location: Lots of eating establishments and close to central railway, Imperial Palace and shopping.
We needed a hotel for a two night stopover between London and Sydney and this suited the purpose well. Its location in the heart of the Ginza district meant we were close to all we needed with easy access to the central business area, restaurants, shopping and transport. In the intense summer heat of Tokyo it provided a perfect sanctuary as a stopover hotel. The hotel happily stored our luggage on arrival and prior to departure and staff spoke reasonable English in an area where, surprisingly, English was not as widely spoken as in some other parts of Tokyo.

OK hotel in a great area of the cityPosted Jul 3, 2014
Cons: The hotel is in need of a major update. This would add value and counterbalance the small rooms.
Excellent staff service and great location. Personally I realized that I prefer a more updated hotel but I would recommend the Monterey Ginza to anyone looking for good value.
