“My kind of place”
This is a great hotel if you are not a hotel snob. The rooms are clean and spartan. Across the road is the Metro System, so you can get to ever you want. There is no resturan,t but they do have a breakfast in the morning. They have Family Mart, quaint backery and Dr Coffee just up the street so youy can get any thing you want to eat and beer wine or booze. There is a refrigerator in the room so you can keep stuff cold. They have free internet and you can buy cable Tv if you want, 1000 yen a night. Or just swich the basic 12 channles or the BBc which is in English. Plenty of resturants on the side streets Overall a great value .
“Very chic boutique hotel in quiet yet convenient neighborhood.”
Pleasantly surprised by chic modern decor, upscale bathroom. Only negative is small size of the room. Upon checking out, found so many guests staying same night, but heard no sound from hallway and outside. Elegant neighborhood, subway entrance front of hotel, close to Marunouchi business hub. Saw mostly Japanese tourists as guests. Good value, very reasonable rate for Tokyo and quality new building.
“Hanzomon Business Hotel”
Hotel condition is nice because it is newer. The house keeping staff was very nice and efficient keeping the room very clean. The front desk staff was cordial and spoke some English. Hotel is convenient to Hanzomon Station Exit 5. There are a few restaurants / bars in the area. Hotel only serves breakfast buffet in the banquet room. The on property restaurant was closed during my stay. Not sure if this is a permanent situation. The closest location to the hotel for more variety of restaurants / bars can be found in Akasaka (Hanzomon Station one train stop away to Nagatacho and short walk to Akasaka).
“Excellent location and neighbourhood”
Very good one, especially at the promotion rate. Only one complaint: the chair bottomed out and needed replacement..
“Beyond adequate”
A bit beyond adequate, no frills, clean, friendly staff, excellent location, just remember, when you exit Hanzomon station, go to exit no 5, other exits will get you lost.
“Small but great”
Stayed at the Monterey Hanzomon for a weekend in Tokyo. The location is very convenient, directly across from a subway exit. The hotel is very new, nicely appointed, and the rooms almost keep up with the splashy lobby. The bathroom was excellent, with a nice bathtub / shower, pretty stylish for the price, not the standard plastic bathroom. However, the room we were in was very small, even though it was a "king size" bed. We had two carry-ons, and were hard pressed to find a spot for them while leaving the room somewhat habitable. No way you can find a spot for a full size suitcase. Overall we had a good experience, and I'd book it again.
“very impressed, staff was very polite.”
great hotel, would definitely recommend.
“Good Hotel in a Great Location”
Walking out of Hanzomon Metro Station exit number 5, the hotel entrance is literally across the street. This makes travel to and from the hotel extremely convenient. The room was clean and comfortable, certainly not luxurious or extremely spacious. We enjoyed our stay!
“Nice first experience”
This is my first visits to Japan and was my first hotel. I was just coming in off a long flight and arrived during one of the typhoons. I had read all the stories of tiny rooms. Maybe my needs aren't as much as others but I was plesantly surprised. Very nice room, more then adequate space for my needs as a single traveler, and easy access to the Tokyo subway. It is mere steps to exit 5 on the Hanzomon line. Now it is smaller then a standard US room but if you want standard US room, stay in States. The mattress is a little firm, but I've got a touchy back and am accustomed to something a little different at my home. The staff is very pleasant. All in all a nice first experience with Japan, and Japanese hotels.
“Modern quiet hotel in pleasant area of Tokyo”
Stayed seven nights at the Monterey Hanzomon in June. Met all of our needs to a high degree, eg clean room, helpful staff who spoke reasonable english, easy to find location (directly opposite exit 5 of the Hanzomon Subway station), and quiet at night for a big city hotel. This was important to us as we sleep with windows open. Room we booked was a twin. The beds were generous in size, and room, though not large, was a reasonable size and was still big enough to take two large suitcases and carry bags and leave room to move around with ease. Bathroom was adequate in size and well fitted out with all the accessories needed. Reasonably priced eating places as well as mini marts within 100 metres. For price we paid, far better value than dearer and smaller rooms we stayed in at London and Rome on this trip.
