Bustling area in ShinjukuPosted Apr 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
The service was excellent and we really enjoyed the surrounding area. It's easily accessible via Takadanobaba Station and we will definitely stay here again!

A Good Hotel in a Good LocationPosted Dec 24, 2012
- Perfectly placed for travel around Tokyo: very close to metro station. - Room was small but clean and comfortable. -Buffet breakfast was good: a reasonable selection of food to please most tastes. The restaurant aslo served lunch and dinner, although I didn't sample these. -Staff were helpful and accomodating. - Overall, 8/10.

Great valuePosted Nov 17, 2012
Location: Located beside the train station that is on the main JR line in Tokyo so very convenient to all the major attractions. Shops & restaurants at doorstep
Great location and well priced, a lot cheaper than close by hotels in Shinjuku that are very similar. A good place for younger people as there is a large university population in the area. The rooms are quite small and the beds are also very small but you will get this with all the 'business style' hotels in Japan. All in all this was the best of the three business style hotels that we stayed in while in Japan.

Great hotel in Tokyo neighborhoodPosted Oct 29, 2012
Pros: Location for transportation and amenities.
Cons: Bed was a bit hard, but still comfortable for our 7 night stay.
Location: Amazing location near the station, very easy to get to and get around.
Hotel Takadanobaba was great, we stayed in a group of 6 with 3 total rooms. They made sure to get us rooms together which was great. The hotel itself is a two minute walk from the JR/Tokyo Metro Takadanobaba station. It has a 100 yen store, McDonalds, BK, KFC, Mister Donut, grocery store, and plenty of Japanese restaurants in walking distance. The hotel staff was very friendly and spoke enough English to communicate needs with them. The rooms were small, as expected in Japan, but comfortable with 2 people and one large suitcase and two small bags. The bed itself was a bit hard, but once again, as expected in Japanese hotels. The bed in the twin room was about the size of a full bed American style. There was a teapot and TV in the room, huge tub and shower. I would stay here again any day if I came back to Tokyo, cannot beat the location, price, and amenities for travel.

Good deal, great locationPosted Jan 8, 2012 on Hotels.com
Typical tiny Japanese hotel room, but it's difficult to find something much bigger for this price. The hotel was clean, the front desk staff was friendly and helpful, and housekeeping was accommodating of my erratic schedule. The lobby was very nice looking and comfortable, and included a restaurant. The room was decent, and included complimentary internet access (wired, no wireless). The location was great! The hotel is literally across the street from the JR station and just around the corner from the Metro station. Despite being so close, I was not disturbed by noise from the trains. Takadanobaba is also a great location on the western side of Tokyo. By JR, it's only 2 stations away from both Ikebukuro (to the north) and Shinjuku (to the south). It also offers some nice restaurants. I would definitely stay here again!

Hotel Sunroute TakadanobabaPosted Dec 14, 2011 on Hotels.com
I like to stay at this hotel not for the comfort, but for the location. The rooms are your typical tiny Japanese rooms with hard beds, nothing to write home about. There is a small fridge in the rooms. The bathroom has a deep mini-tub; the towels are tiny. This last time I stayed there, they gave out an English map of the surrounding location with all kinds of good things marked on the map. It is right next to a JR line station, a great grocery store (Peacock), many restaurants, fairly near a Starbucks, and several coin-op laundromats are within walking distance -- one is marked on the map they give out.

College town neighborhoodPosted Nov 6, 2011
Lots of drunk college kids around the neighborhood, many of whom are either vomiting, passed out, or slurring lyrics to a pop song. Takadanobaba is definitely a fun place to hang out if you can find some locals to hang out with, but some might not enjoy all of the rookie drinking going on. With that said, Takadanobaba is conveniently located if you plan on spending time in western Tokyo. Easy access to Shinjuku, Harajuku, Shibuya, and Ikebukuro. Basically a shoppers paradise. Unfortunately, the rooms are quite small, which is expected for any of the Sunroute properties. Just enough room to open a 29 inch suitcase, but not enough to walk by it while open. Instead, you'll have to jump or detour over the bed. This can be a problem for the shopaholic, who will have little room to store they're newly acquired shopping bags. If you're not into shopping, which is understandable with the insane strength of the Yen, then you might want to stay someplace with closer access to the major sights, such as Shinagawa, Shimbashi/Ginza, Ueno, Tokyo,... If you're a large person, then definitely stay somewhere else. Somewhere other that a Japanese business hotel, which are notorious for having very little space and tiny pre-fabricated bathrooms with super low ceilings.

Very impressedPosted May 11, 2011
Went to stay at Takadanobaba Sunroute for a week back in mid Dec 2010. The location of the hotel can't be better, it's right next to the rail station; with supermarkets and restaurants surrounding it. The staff at the reception were very nice, let us to drop our luggages before the check in time. The room was in a moderate size, and very clean (the most important point to me)!! Would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone!

Lovely Little Hotel in Super-convenient locationPosted Apr 19, 2011
This modern hotel is right next to both a JR Circle Line Stop and a Metro subway stop. While they have a breakfast for about $10 available, there are lots of choices just outside, from McD to a french baquette shop. Even with all this activity, it is not noisy in the hotel and is still a calm location compared to Shibuya or Ueno, all within 15 minutes. The rooms are very nice, but small as usual. If the price is better than others, this seems to be a wise choice.
