Don't book the East TowerPosted Sep 16, 2014
When I first heard "Shinagawa Prince" for about $100/night, I thought that it was a bargain, but the $100 price is most likely the East Tower...small, cramped, view of the wall. For $100, you could probably get a double room at Toyoko Inn, not 5 minutes from here.

Great Hotel right across from the trainsPosted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: Location and it being very clean as well as the staff service.
Cons: The only thing I would love to see is some type of meal to be included in the booking or pricing of the hotel. Maybe breakfast. This would be perfect.
Location: This is located right across from Shinagawa Station, one of the connecting stations to all trains, rails, shinkansens, etc to all places in Japan.
Love the hotel and it's staff, they render excellent services and want the customer to be as comfortable as possible. This is our second time at this hotel and we have been to others, and prefer to stay here. We have decided whenever we are back in Tokyo this is where we are to stay.

Good location but disappointing...Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: The location was ideal in relation to the Shinagawa train station but then the rest of the qualities fell short of expectations.
Cons: Big warning about the size of the room would have been nice.
Location: Lots of restaurants, mostly overpriced.
Compared to the main tower which looks like a real hotel. This was smaller than a dorm room at the worse college.

Which building of Shinagawa Prince?Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful. The top floor cafe was cozy with interesting decor. Convenience for Shinkansen Bullet Train transfer.
Cons: The size of rooms. In our twin-bed room, there was no space to open our suitcases on the floor!
Location: Along Shinagawa Station, there was a row of noodle shops and we had the best raamen we ever tried in one of them!
We booked this hotel thinking the main building and new buildings were of the similar quality. However the room we got was in the new building called "K" and it was incredibly small. It was clean and the staff were very polite and friendly, which compensated for the lack of comfort of the room, but I would not stay there again.

Nice hotel close to Shinagawa StationPosted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: Clean room close to transportation.
Hotel is pleasant and the room (for the price) has a decent amount of space even by Tokyo standards. Room is clean and is fine for a basic stay. Hotel is located near a number of restaurants and stores. It is also across the street from Shinagawa Station, which makes transportation easy. However, be aware, Shinagawa is kind of far from main parts of Tokyo (an hour from NRT airport, and about 20-30 min by train to main tourist attractions).

Massive place! A good base.Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: Location mainly. And the rooms were good, facilities were really good. Aquarium? Cinema? Bowling alley? not bad for a reasonably priced hotel.
Location: Amongst a shopping centre directly opposite the train station. Lots to fill the day with and very convenient.
I stayed in two different rooms during my time here. Firstly in a single room in the east tower, which was fine. Functional and all you need. Then I joined a tour for the second night so was moved into a twin room in the main hotel. This was really nice - much bigger - more spacious than I expected.

Nice hotel, very convenient for Shinagawa stationPosted Aug 9, 2014
Very conveniently located for Shinagawa Rail Station (Shinkansen and many local lines). Staff were friendly and helpful, which is nice to see in such a large establishment. Rooms are a little on the small side, but not unacceptably so by Tokyo standards. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other visitors to the Tokyo area.
