Budget hotel

Posted Aug 20, 2014
First time staying at capsule hotel, overall the experience is good but no second time for me. Reason because, I prefer more privacy bath room, share bath no my cup of tea. Also don't quite understand why need to check in and check out everyday as I'm staying 3 continue nights.

Cheap and nice capsule hotel

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Nice and clean capsule hotel with public-bath-style showers. Clean and quiet capsule with little tv inside. The only problem is, it's very hard to find! Even locals don't really know where this hotel is. I spend 1 hour walking around with my luggages, desperate to find the hotel.

Made me feel like I was in a sci fi book

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Unique experience, clean
Cons: More shower stalls. After I came out, there was a line of people.
Location: Shinjuku is like Times Square and Shanghai had a baby. You won't run out of stores to check out here.
Smooth check-in with a fluent English-speaking person at the desk. My friends (group of 5, 3 men and 2 women) all had a great time. Having had the female experience, the capsules and communal bathrooms with matching pajamas were like something out of a YA fiction book set in a futuristic society where everything is streamlined, organized, and matching. The bathrooms were super clean, with private bathroom stalls and fancy Japanese toilets. Even toothbrushes were provided. The guys were on a different floor, and two of them didn't shower because they didn't feel comfortable being nude next to other dudes. Apparently, the guys have an open shower instead of private stalls. The rooms themselves had more than enough space for a 5'3" person, and since I slept with my feet to the entrance, had no issues with noise at night. Definitely a worthwhile experience to try at least once.

Nice Japanese Experience

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Location is great. Japanese Bath is a plus.
Cons: I didn't like that I have to leave my luggage downstairs, but this is the way it works because no room for your luggage upstairs. Travel light!
Location: Location is great. Lots of places to eat around with different budgets.
Is a good place to stay for a couple of nights. Capsules are comfortable and Japanese Bath is really nice.

Great location, fabulous value!

Posted Jul 31, 2014
Pros: Great location, great value.
Cons: Provide free earplugs instead of free toothbrushes!
Location: Heart of Shinjuku -- the world is your oyster!
Hotel is initially hard to find, but is in a great location for transit and nightlife. If you don't mind the quirkiness of capsule system (shared showers, having to check out every day) then this place is great. The hotel charges around $45 per night, but I was able to book three nights for $16/night through expedia. Astounding value!

Pretty nice for price, but weird rules

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Some of the hotel staff are really annoying about enforcing their annoying rules. It goes without saying that a hotel should be able to keep your bags for a couple hours after check out. One guy was nice and understood this, the others threw a fit. The place itself is nice, although be ready to be approached by hustlers/promoters in the area.

Good Capsule Hotel near the heart of Shinjuku

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: That we could experience a capsule hotel, as not very many allow females.
Cons: I would have liked to have a real Japanese bath, because the showers were a tad small, but hey, when they only have one floor for females....
It was very nice to be able to lock up my shoes, ride an elevator to the female floor, have a nice hot shower waiting, and then be able to go down to the lounge for some Japanese TV and hot food made by the hotel kitchen. At 8 am EVERYONE was awake and getting ready to check out, so be ready to be up with them or deal with a little hustle and bustle right outside your capsule.

Excellent for what I expected

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Organized, clean, inexpensive & efficient.
This pod hotel is very well-run and clean. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay on a budget and a different kind of experience. It's definitely not a standard hotel and shouldn't be compared to one.

Capsule Hotel of high standard

Posted Jun 27, 2014
Easy to use, the capsules are very loud though; don't expect an uninterrupted nights sleep unless you have been drinking! The bathing area is good if you don't mind the general nakedness of it all; there is a Jacuzzi and various baths, and good shower area. They provide free towel, bath robe and shorts, and there are free toothbrushes which have some toothpaste in them. In general great location, decent place to kip down for a night, but very communal.
