"Loved this hotel!"
Me and my friend stayed at this hotel for two weeks. I'm in my late 20s while my friend is in her early 20s. This was both our first time in japan. We arrived early morning at 11am, after getting into Tokyo station we decided to walk to the hotel, with the help of google maps I managed to pick up some signal to see where we were in able to locating the hotel. It was a little difficult at the end but we managed to find it in our second go. It was roughly a 25 min walk from the station. We were greeted by a staff member at the desk who stated check in wasn't till 3pm, but we could pay an additional 1000 yen to check in now. As we were so jet lagged we decided to pay and get into the room earlier. The lift needed your room key to work and we did have trouble with it occasionally but after speaking to a member of staff she sorted this out for us. The cleaner was so nice and even showed us where our room was when we arrived. The room was small but I was expecting that. It was clean and modern. We had a non smoking room on 6th floor with a double bed. The bed fit us both in and was really comfortable, only thing I found a little hard was the pillow which seemed it had beads within it making it crunchy. The bathroom was tin, but again I was expecting that. The toilet was modern and was one that had a warm seat which was good for those cold days. Shower was excellent and very powerful and warm. You got big bottles of body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Also within the bathr

"Affordable Clean Hotel Near Kamata Train Staion"
It was hard for me to find. Make sure to use Google Maps to navigate your way. I walked from Kamata Train Station. After a frustrating navigation trial and error, I found a wifi hotspot and used Google Maps to navigate my way closer to Grand Park Hotel. Once at the nearest crossroads, I asked a nice Japanese man at a nearby cafe where it was. Once there, I was very pleased with the Japanese hospitality of the staff, cleanliness of the hotel, etc. They even offered me a cart to carry my cumbersome luggage :). The room was a bit small, but that's the norm in Japan. Amenities were great - Ironing Board and Iron, Refrigerator, HDTV, Burner Plate to heat tea, radio, hot water, A/C, and modern Japanese toilet. Bottom-line, it was clean, modern, and worth the money I paid. You will enjoy it too - just make sure to recon your route beforehand.

"great experience in the middle of it all"
This was something different! When we wanted to take a shower, we found out that there aren't any western style showers around, everything is communal! We were a little apprehensive at first (being naked around others), but no one cares, no one will look at you. The idea is that you're a guest at the sauna with a sleepover (capsule). You'll be requested to walk around in their attire (robes), and you'll have free use of the sauna facilities, which is great. There's a hot & cold pool, as well as a sauna. What is irritating is the procedure you have to go through when going out/coming in. At arrival, take off your shoes after leaving the elevator to the 4th floor. Go to the desk, check in (some staff don't speak english though), and you'll have to place your shoes in the shoes locker. After that, you'll be handed the luggage locker key (they're small, you may have to place any suit cases in the locker area). Each time you go out, you'll have to hand in your locker key, and you'll be given a piece of paper on which is written your locker number. When coming back, you have to hand them the piece of paper, you'll be given the locker key, and you'll have to change to the sauna robes... The place has a late 70s, early 80s feel to it, which I thought was great. The capsules are OK to sleep in.Do bring your ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. They don't have a lock! So keep your valuables in the locker.

"The Granbell experience"
First time in Tokyo and we arrived after a 13 hour flight from Toronto. Easy bus service to Shinjuku JR Terminal (West Exit) and hopped in our first Tokyo cab for a 10 minute ride to the Granbell. Lovely lobby and very friendly staff. On the fringes of Kabuchiko's "red light" district, the streets and neighbourhood are very safe to walk and there are many ramen restaurants and local taverns nearby. View of West Torkyo from our window, and very nice hotel ammenities in the bathroom. Very clean and fast serving elevators. Great roof top bar for a drink and the chance to take in the lights of Shinjuku. Found a great treelined walkway with connects hotel with Shinjuku's main avenues, without having to deal with all the video game arcades, hostess' clubs, and gentleman's massage "clubs". The "love hotels" can get to you after a few days, but one is always safe and subject to Japanese politeness.

"Amazing location and big rooms!"
Stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. I have been to japan 6 times and this is one of the bigger rooms and bathrooms I have had. For being so close to Shinjuku station the room size was amazing, usually only see that further out. You can ask for a router when checking in and then you can have wifi in your room. Staff were friendly and just a short walk to East and West Shinjuku. Great Stay. Thanks!
