"The Granbell experience"
First time in Tokyo and we arrived after a 13 hour flight from Toronto. Easy bus service to Shinjuku JR Terminal (West Exit) and hopped in our first Tokyo cab for a 10 minute ride to the Granbell. Lovely lobby and very friendly staff. On the fringes of Kabuchiko's "red light" district, the streets and neighbourhood are very safe to walk and there are many ramen restaurants and local taverns nearby. View of West Torkyo from our window, and very nice hotel ammenities in the bathroom. Very clean and fast serving elevators. Great roof top bar for a drink and the chance to take in the lights of Shinjuku. Found a great treelined walkway with connects hotel with Shinjuku's main avenues, without having to deal with all the video game arcades, hostess' clubs, and gentleman's massage "clubs". The "love hotels" can get to you after a few days, but one is always safe and subject to Japanese politeness.

"Amazing location and big rooms!"
Stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. I have been to japan 6 times and this is one of the bigger rooms and bathrooms I have had. For being so close to Shinjuku station the room size was amazing, usually only see that further out. You can ask for a router when checking in and then you can have wifi in your room. Staff were friendly and just a short walk to East and West Shinjuku. Great Stay. Thanks!

"Shinjuku Hotel"
We stayed at APA Hotel Shinjuku Gyoemmae mainly due to location. It's a short walk to central Shinjuku which is a convenient hub and also the last stop for the Narita Express. Or if the weather is bad, it's only 50m from the nearest metro station. The hotel staff are friendly and the hotel is maintained in excellent condition. However, like most hotels in the area, prepare yourself for some of the smallest hotel rooms in the world. Not much space to do anything other than sleep, but that's no real problem staying in an area like Shinjuku with so much to do!

"Such helpful staff!"
We arrived to find out that I had booked us in for one less night than intended. The man at the front desk fixed up our issue with no fuss, organizing to have a triple bed room made up within twenty minutes. The room was spacious and very comfortable, but it was the staff that really made Shinjuku Prince for us. The man that had helped us with the room was a continuous source of help throughout our stay, I wish I had got his name so I could say thank you!
